1 1 AUBURN HILLS PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWSLETTER July 2016 New Changes to Download Destination Service In response to our current holds situation, the policy committee has agreed to adopt an exploratory short loan policy for the titles in our consortium with the most holds. The 12 titles with the most holds in our consortium will now be restricted to a maximum 14-day checkout period. The policy committee will keep a close watch on the effects of this new policy, and report to the next user s group meeting. New Option For Patron Due-Date Receipts Help the Library continue to go green, and no more worries about losing your paper due-date receipts! At the Check-Out Desk, you can now ask staff to send due-date receipts to your account. Just indicate your preference when you check out your items. Paper due-date receipts are still available, if a patron prefers this option. New: Library Book Bags Available For Checkout! The Auburn Hills Public Library now has book bags for patrons to borrow, just like other library materials. These sturdy canvas bags will be located in the main hallway, under the information monitor. If you forget your bag at home, feel free to borrow one from here! The bags are available for a 3-week loan period, with two renewals. If you are late in returning the bag, the overdue fine is $.15 per day. If you lose a bag, the replacement cost is $10. Bags are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no holds allowed on the bags. We hope you enjoy this new addition to our services!
