1 Open for Business December 1, 2013 January 31, 2014 at any shopping mall or outlet center Mall Scavenger Hunt The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a girl-run program that turns girls into young entrepreneurs. Through the program, girls gain five important skills they will use throughout their lives: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics. These skills will help them become leaders in their own lives, in business and around the world. Objective: To show how selling Girl Scout cookies helps girls develop marketing strategies and business skills all while having fun! Goal: Girls understand basic business principles and how they relate to the Girl Scout Cookie program. To complete the scavenger hunt, girls will need to answer all questions in the following sections: Daisies: One, Three, Four Brownies: One, Two, Three, Five Juniors: One, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven Cadettes: Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven Seniors and Ambassadors: Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight When possible, use a different store for each section. Troops or girls that mail their successfully completed scavenger hunts to the Newark Girl Scout Office (501 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19713) no later than February 10, 2014 will receive a Mall Scavenger Hunt fun patch. Girls will also be working on badge requirements for Financial Literacy and Cookie Business badges (see next page for details). Please remind your girls to practice good mall manners. Before participating in the scavenger hunt, remind girls not to run in the mall or touch displays in the stores. Also remember to be polite to all store employees and customers. Make sure your group stays together! Have fun! Special Thanks to Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana for the great idea and design of this mall scavenger hunt! 1
