My College Fund Get Started Questionnaire 1) Before meeting you guys, what was my college fund strategy? What was I thinking of how I could fund my child's college education? 2) Do I feel prepared for the task? 3) Did I save enough money? What if I'm short? There is plenty of government grant money available for your child's schooling. Last year alone there was over 193 billion dollars allocated for kids college and now the new administration wants to improve on that, seeing that our nation becomes the most educated in the world. Qualifying for the money available is a based on a first come first serve basis, so getting in and learning the ropes and what is required is imperative, including understanding the laws and what is allowed so that you can achieve the highest award for your child's education.
Learning how to complete the paperwork in the right way is key. For example, you must know how to calculate your Family Contribution properly, including calculating your Home Equity correctly or knowing when to transfer one kind of fund into another kind of fund which would legally change and cut your required family contribution in half, thereby potentially doubling or tripling your award. Following the prescribed techniques that unlock the grant money for your child will be key to achieving your result! In some cases we can achieve in getting you 90% of your need. Knowing your need is critical as well. Getting 90% of $10,000 dollars is better then 90% of $5,000.00, so assessing the need correctly is also important! 4) Am I excited about their schooling and am I determined to make it happen? That is a question only you can answer! 5) Which schools are right for my child? Better on or off campus? Living on or off campus is certainly a convenience and personal preference. It definitely will determine weekly and monthly savings one way or another. Whether a child is considered a dependent of yours or independent can also change your Family Contribution, as well as doubling their personal award money or double their federal financial loan award amount as well. Either way, dependent or independent, there is plenty of money to get the job done right as long as the strategy is handled correctly!
6) How much will I have to come up with or contribute? Depending on your circumstance and what your Family Contribution will be subtracted from the school's total yearly tuition bill will determine what your Need will be! If we can make that need bigger and achieve 90% of that, then we are on the right track! 7) Will I be able to afford it? Starting out with a competitive ACT score etc can certainly help or in some case retaking the test to see if you can bump up your scores a few points can certainly achieve better results for getting into the school you're most excited about going to. As far as affording, it I suspect you will be able to afford a number of schools, because whatever you can do is what you can do. Beyond that is the need! Plus some schools will be competing for your child and some will grant you a bigger award. Applying to many schools all at once will achieve different awards, some higher than others. By having those to use as examples we will be able to carefully use them as leverage to renegotiate your award with the school that you want to go to! 8) What happens if our child's award does not cover the need? Your family may have gone through some changes, from loss of job or parent (divorce, foreclosure bankruptcy, etc.). There are certain awards that are federally awarded to everyone that applies because it is considered an entitlement. According to the law enacted in 1965, parents are responsible for a child's education after the 12 th grade. If you cannot handle or afford it then the government says they may assist you with this task.
9) Are they eligible for scholarships and grants and how much do we apply? Yes. There are scholarships available, but to a select 1%. Do not waste all your precious time trying to win a scholarship when enough grant money is ready and available if properly applied for! 10) Is my child prepared and mentally ready with a desire to go? We certainly hope so when we will assist in making this happen. Certainly College is not for everyone and for some a trade, apprentice program or tech schools can be a fast and focused way to obtain a job and learning skills they will need to support their future life's plans. School on the average is now taking 5 years to finish due to switching fields of study. There are career and guidance counselors available to meet with students to help them determine suitable interests of study to match their skills. There are now available special tests which can sort out one's natural abilities by combining psychological, personality and cognitive skills, helping to determine possible great life career choices based on ones strengths and abilities. These tests bring to light or surface an individual's strong qualities and talents that could be added upon so proper maximization of someone's talents, focus, and energy is being best put to use. These tests will be made available to those who join our program. ( questions continued )
11. What other preparation will they need to complete to qualify? First learn what is required then take stock of what is complete and not yet complete so you can complete the required processes. 12) School deadlines. How do I know each one? Call each one! School 1 School 2 School 3 School 4 School 5 School 6 School 7 School 8 School 9 School 10 13) What forms do I submit? It depends on your individual need, but most will need to complete a FAFSA form which is critical to the process since the FAFSA form is the gate keeper to this whole process of grant money. 50% of all grant money dispersed is determined from the FAFSA form! 14) Who will help me complete this task? If you join our College Fund service we will! 15) Who will negotiate or re-negotiate my school financial award? If you join our College Fund service we will!
