5 Your requirements as an employer As an employer, you are legally obliged under The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 to provide eyecare to certain members of your staff. By understanding your needs as an employer we have designed our business eyecare to fulfil these requirements. As an eye exam is usually recommended every 2 years, this equates to less than 10 per employee per year! 7 DSE users The regulations require that employees using DSEs are provided with an eye examination at regular intervals, funded by their employer. The employer is also obliged to provide appropriate spectacles for the work being done by the employee using the DSE. Prolonged computer use can cause symptoms such as: eyestrain / red eyes headaches / migraine difficulty focusing / dry eyes postural problems In the workplace, these can result in reduced productivity. Eye problems are relatively common in any workforce, so easy access to a trusted optician is very valuable. Keith Holland & Associates can provide the required eye examination and DSE spectacles where necessary, but go further with giving valuable advice on DSE ergonomics, helping computer users towards a more comfortable and productive DSE environment. We offer a range of complete-price spectacles for Complex prescriptions including prisms and enhanced reading lenses (if required) cost All include: frame, market leading Essilor branded lenses complete with scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatments, cloth, hard case and fitting and aftercare service. Alternatively, should employees wish to choose from our wider selection of frames, they can use your business contribution and pay any additional costs themselves.

9 Industrial environments Any type of industrial environment poses potential eye health risks for employees. Machinery, sparks, metal fragments and dust can irreparably damage eyes, even if your employee already wears spectacles. Keith Holland & Associates safety eyewear fully conform to BS EN166 specifications and are all stamped with the British standard kite-mark. Our safety eyewear is designed to protect the eyes and help prevent serious accidents. Safety glasses are available with prescription lenses (where needed) so there is no need to have clumsy goggles fitting over your employees own spectacles. All of our safety eyewear carry full certification of conformity to the required regulations. We have a range of safety eyewear to try in the practice with both metal and plastic frames and different lens options available to ensure your employees have the correct protection. Prices start at for single vision, for bifocals and for varifocals. These prices include frame, lenses, case, cleaning cloth, fitting and aftercare service. We are on hand to answer any questions you may have and can be contacted on or reception@keithholland.co.uk
