1 Manage Preferences This page allows you to edit all the system preferences. Here you can control various aspects of your script. It has many sections and we will describe each separately here: Update Preferences: The first section has common preferences regarding Clickthrough Rate is the amount that is charged from merchant per click. You can set it to any amount of your choice or you can set it to zero if you don t want to charge per click from merchant. Max Spider Pages is the total number of pages that the spider can crawl. After this value, the spider will stop. This is important to keep server load low. Max Spider Level is the maximum level of depth the spider can go into while crawling a website. P a g e 1

2 Start Price Crawler Session After (Hours) is the number of hours after which a new price crawler session will start. Before that, the price crawler will not reset the execution session and every call to the crawler will just die if all the pending urls are already been processed. Featured Merchant Fee is the amount charged by the script to make a merchant featured. Featured Merchant Duration is the number of days till which a merchant will remain featured after successful payment. Page Size in Admin Area is the number of records to show per page in Admin Area. Page Size in Public Area is the number of records to show per page in Public Site. Google Analytics Code is dumped in the head section of your public site, you can place the analytics code in this text box and it will start being called. Password Protected Delete is a new feature. You can use this feature to disallow deleting records by admins without entering password again. This feature is introduced to prevent accidental delete on certain objects, like Category, Products, Merchants, Members and Brands. P a g e 2

3 Payment Methods: In this section you specify the payment methods with which you will charge your merchants. Currently system supports PAYPAL, 2CHECKOUT, AUTHORIZE.NET, VCS DIRECT, GOOGLE CHECKOUT, PAYBOX, BANK DEPOSIT (offline method). If using AUTHORIZE.NET make sure to enter TRANSACTION-KEY in the password field if your account is configured for Expanded Credits Capabilities (ECC). In the BANK DEPOSIT mode, you can enter any details for any offline method, like where to send cheque or where to make bank transfers. The text written in this textbox is displayed to the merchant when he is registering. P a g e 3

5 System Preferences: In this section you specify complete system preferences. Company Name is your company name. This name will appear every where on the website. Default Language is the default system language. Default language is loaded when someone loads the website. Use SEO Urls can be set to Yes if your server has the apache mod_rewrite module installed and you want to enable Search engine friendly urls. Redirect to shop if Store Count is 1 means that if only single store offers a product then on the product listing page and the search result page, visitor will be taken to the direct link to the store page instead of first taking to our product price comparison page and then showing there a single merchant price. Clickthrough re-record duration is number of hours after which a click from a same IP is record for a product and merchant is charged for it. Send Package Expiry to merchant in is the number of days before package expiry when a warning is sent to merchant. P a g e 5

6 Send Low Balance Warning sends an to merchant if his balance is lower than this amount. Website Charset is the character set of the website. This is the character set used throughout the website. Make sure to update this field according to your native language if you are using non-english language. Also make sure that you set Disable Input Filtering to YES if you are running a non-english website. Default Country is the country that is shown pre-selected on the registration page, profile page, contact us page. Deny registration from address of same domain enables you to deny usage of your domain as address for registration. Shutdown Website will show a shutdown your website and display a message which is editable from language files. This feature is useful if you are doing some maintenance work and what to shut down website for some time. P a g e 6

7 Basic Constants: Valid Extensions helps you restrict uploading of files other than the specified extensions. Perform Refer Check enables the site to check that all the forms are sent from the same domain. This is recommended to set to No because usually, firewalls strip the referrer information from internet forms. Disable Input Filtering allows you to enable/disable filtering on all the forms submitted to the website. Show Refer a Friend will display refer a friend link on product pages. Is currency symbol after price will display the currency symbol after price on the public area. It is usually used in European websites. Perform Search by Words will do a word wise search on the public website and will not return partially searched words in search results. Enable Search by Manufacturer Code shows a search option by Manufacturer Code in the search bar in the public area. If it is not enabled then this option in the search bar. Manufacturer Code will not appear Max Execution Time for Product Spider is used to interrupt a spider process after it takes long enough to reach the specified number of seconds. P a g e 7

8 Is (,) used as decimal separator is used to display (,) instead of (.) in all prices/amounts in public area. It is usually used for European sites. Admin Folder Name can be used to change the admin folder for security purpose. You must also change the folder name of admin panel using ftp. Enable product review without login will enable users to review products without login and registration. Functionality Constants: Show Page Breaks with Numbers will display numbers instead of a text box in paging area. What Type of Shipping to Display will let you select 3 modes, either you can hide entire shipping column, or you can show shipping from ups, or shipping is displayed from datafeed column. Hide Banner on Homepage hides the banner shown on the bottom of the homepage (in v5). Hide Banner on the Comparison page hides the banner shown on the product page. Hide Availability Column hides the availability column on the product price comparison page. P a g e 8
