Thr ar currntly 700 studnts nrolld in th high school. CCAHS is locatd in southwst Dtroit, also known as Mxicantown, which is hom to th largst singl concntration of Latina/o's in th stat of Michigan. According to rcnt cnsus data, th Mxicantown community has bn a stabl rsidntial community for th bttr part of th past 3 dcads and th majority of th rsidnts ar of Latina/o hritag. Data Drivn Dtroit rports that approximatly 47% of th community, agd 18 yars and oldr, arnd a high school diploma. Spanish is listd as th primary languag in a high prcntag of housholds and thr is also high prcntag of two-parnt housholds. Data Drivn Dtroit also rports that th Mxicantown community has th highst birthrats in Dtroit. Th City of Dtroit continus facing srious challngs with unmploymnt amongst its rsidnts and public transportation. At Csar Chavz Acadmy High, 2015 graduation rats ar hovring at 89% and its ACT and M-STEP scors, in comparison to similar studnt and socio-conomic dmographics, ranks amongst uppr tir high schools in Michigan (Bridg Magazin, 2016). Csar Chavz Acadmy High offrs its studnts dual nrollmnt opportunitis in partnrship with Wayn County Community Collg District; Hnry Ford Collg; and th Collg for Crativ Studis. Studnts can tak up to six (6) crdit hours in th fall and wintr smstrs. CCAHS also offrs its studnts six (6) advanc placmnt classs.
