1 SUBCLASSES AND QUEENSLAND SKILLED LIST FOR APPLICANTS CURRENTLY LIVING OFFSHORE OR INTERSTATE Effective August 15, 2016 This list is for applicants not currently in living in Queensland. Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) can nominate applicants for the following visas: The Skilled Nominated (Permanent) visa (subclass ) is a point-tested permanent residency visa for applicants nominated by a state or territory government. The Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass ) is a point-tested provisional visa. It is a pathway to permanent residency. This visa requires applicants to live in a regional area for two a minimum of years and be employed for 12 months. Please see FACT SHEET- SKILLED MIGRATION for Eligibility Criteria, Applications Process and further information CEILINGS Occupations on the QSOL may be subjected to a cap. This means a maximum number of nominations that will be accepted by BSMQ for each occupation within a given period. When ceilings are met, the occupation will be closed and further applications will not be accepted. It is at BSMQ s discretion when occupations will be opened or closed. The status of occupations will be regularly updated to indicate whether applications are being accepted. Applicants are encouraged to review the BSMQ website and social media regularly to check the status of their occupation. BSMQ will not contact you if your occupation is closed or opened at a later date. Applying for nomination correctly does not guarantee you will receive Queensland nomination or be granted an Australian visa. Nomination is granted at the discretion of BSMQ. The final decision and timeframe on granting a visa is made by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP). Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) Please note that BSMQ will not, under any circumstances, appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) against decisions by DIBP to decline granting a visa to any skilled or business migration applicants nominated by Queensland. After moving to Queensland It is a requirement of nomination by the State of Queensland that the applicant supplies their residential address and contact details to BSMQ within 28 days of arriving in Queensland or when living in permanent lodgings.
