The objective of the Karyashala was to promote the use of Hindi in official work in easy way. Orientation Course for Newly Promoted ACsIT The Orientation programme for newly promoted ACsIT, 2013 sent by NADT, Nagpur was conducted at DTRTI, Chandigarh from to These trainee officers belonged to different regions. The orientation programme commenced with a grand inaugural function presided over by Hon ble Justice Sh. Rajive Bhalla, heading the Tax Bench of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh on the subject Quality of Appeals before Hon ble High Court - Framing of substantial Question of Law and issues of facts - Role of Assessing Officers. Sh. Jaspal Singh, CCIT (CCA), NWR, Chandigarh & Sh. S.K.Satpathy, CCIT, Haryana Region, Panchkula graced the function as Special Guests. Hon ble Justice Sh. Rajiv

3 3 Bhalla gave an inspiring speech to our officers on the proper procedures and techniques to be adopted by the Assessing Officers in the field so as to avoid frequent pitfalls that come in the way of a successful decision in the favour of Revenue in the cases before the High Court. It was very fruitful interactive session in which both the CCITs also participated with the newly promoted officers with enthusiasm. The trainee officers were attached with the DTRTI, Chandigarh for attachments which included attachments with various financial institutions, stock market, industrial visit, attachment with ITAT, visit to the Settlement Commission etc. The trainee officers were sent to ITAT, Chandigarh and for other attachments to Ludhiana, Delhi and Faridabad. 4 4 4. One day workshop on ITD/ASK in the rank of DCIT/ACIT and ITOs A One day workshop on ITD/ASK in the rank of DCsIT/ACsIT & ITOs was organized by DTRTI, Chandigarh. Twenty participants attended the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to provide comprehensive knowledge regarding use of ITD and functions of ASK (Aayakar Sewa Kendra). Sh.
