3 3 The Accreditation standard This standard is for training providers managing and delivering apprenticeship training programmes. The accreditation standard focuses on the operational framework in place for managing the delivery of the apprenticeship training programmes. Apprenticeship training provider accreditation standard 1. Teaching and Learning 1.1 Course delivery The teaching and learning support should be of a high standard to enable students to achieve their apprenticeship. Description of the operational framework for each standard Apprenticeship learning outcomes identified Structured learning activities linked to the relevant apprenticeship standards Technically accurate and up-to-date, relevant content Teachers, coaches and mentors are up-to-date on the CII qualification requirements Teachers, coaches and mentors know the current apprenticeship completion requirements Teachers, coaches and mentors have detailed knowledge/ experience of their subject The course is designed to respond to the apprentice s ability, learning preferences and can be adjusted to suit individual apprentice needs There is employer input to the course design The course structure supports apprentice readiness for assessment There are clear roles and responsibilities for delivery of the apprenticeship training. Teaching and Learning 1.2 Teacher, coach and mentor competence Teachers, trainers, coaches and mentors should demonstrate a high level of competence, relevant experience and knowledge of the apprenticeship programme requirements. Description of the operational framework for each standard Teachers, coaches and mentors have up-to-date knowledge of their subject areas and hold a relevant exam unit/qualification at the same or a higher qualification level Teachers, coaches and mentors have detailed knowledge of the course they are teaching and End Point Assessment apprenticeship requirements Teachers meet the Teachers Standards requirements (e.g. knowledge of teaching techniques, class management, responding to the needs of students) There is a planned, organised approach to supporting apprentices Teachers, coaches and mentors follow a personal and professional conduct standard. Evidence examples CVs and profiles to evidence experience, credentials and qualifications CPD activity for trainers, coaches and mentors Training notes and training plan Competence standards for selection and monitoring Observation feedback Apprentice feedback Employer feedback Performance monitoring Feedback is proactively sought Code of conduct/ethics followed Professional body membership. 1.3 Assessing competence Assessors, teachers, trainers, coaches and mentors involved in the guidance and preparation for the End Point Assessment or evidencing apprenticeship progress should demonstrate a high level of competence and relevant experience. Detailed knowledge of course content and End Point Assessment/ apprenticeship evidence requirements Planned and organised approach to assessing apprentice progress and meeting deadlines Relevant subject or professional qualification held at the same or a higher level than that assessed Professional and ethical behaviour No personal conflicts of interest Trained in the rating and assessment standards. Quality Management 2.1 Teaching and learning support Processes should be in place to ensure adequate resources including financial resources and a suitable training location to support a high quality learning experience. Description of the operational framework for each standard Up-to-date teaching materials used Range of learning resources which can be easily accessed by apprentices Venues used are conducive to learning, have facilities and staff assistance Sufficient number of professionally qualified learning and development personnel Effective administration team support Policies and procedures in place to support a high standard in governance Regular health, safety, security and risk management checks to protect students, staff and visitors Defined operational structure for apprenticeships within the organisation Regular communication with employers and apprentices Process in place to ensure that the End Point Assessment requirements are met before final submission. Quality Management 2.2 Professional A professional approach should be taken by the apprenticeship training provider which includes compliance with all regulatory, legislative and ethical behaviour requirements and a proactive approach to supporting apprenticeship employers. Description of the operational framework for each standard Commitment to CPD for all personnel Compliant with regulatory/legislative requirements Professional qualifications and standards promoted Regular financial monitoring and reporting to ensure financial viability Proactive approach to equality and diversity Course rules and regulations easily accessed by apprentices Apprentice and employer guidance provided Registered with the relevant Government department as an apprentice training provider and all government requirements met Teachers Standards used for review and development of teaching staff Proactive in engaging employers in the apprentice development programme. Quality Management 2.3 Quality & consistency There should be clear methods of ensuring that the apprenticeship training programme is delivered to a consistently high standard which includes the apprentice and employer experience. Description of the operational framework for each standard Process in place to ensure course materials remain relevant, technically accurate and up-to-date Documented course management procedure Performance review process in operation for all employees and contractors Apprentice progress and results monitored Complaints and feedback process in place Comprehensive information provided to apprentice and employer Competence sign off process for new recruits Process in place to monitor the apprentice and employer experience Clearly defined training and assessing roles Independent final End Point Assessment process where required. Validation 3.1 Evaluation Mechanisms should be in place to evaluate the effectiveness of the apprenticeship learning and development programme and ensure that apprentices successfully complete the training. Description of the operational framework for each standard Robust process to assess whether the apprentice has met each of the apprenticeship standards Evaluation process to identify whether the training met its objectives Employer and apprentice feedback is proactively sought, monitored and responded to Process for ensuring consistency of assessment standards between assessors Procedure to ensure the training/ assessment was delivered in line with service standards Regular monitoring and tracking of individual apprentice progress. This should include measures to ensure confidentiality of information. Accurate records of apprentice attendance, progress and achievement Fully completed assessment records maintained for apprenticeships including the final assessment evidence Version control in place to ensure up-to-date content and documents Up to date monitoring and apprentice records maintained Processes in place to ensure confidentiality of information for example, results records, personal information and exam question banks Compliance with any government and/or regulatory reporting requirements e.g. financial and funding or delivery contractual requirements. Contracts and agreements Regulatory returns and reports Policies and procedures on the website Up-to-date policies and procedures Attendance and progress records Certification and completion records Checks in place to ensure the integrity of the record keeping Feedback records Guidance and information documents Procedures to ensure the confidentiality of data including exam question banks.

This will assist you in demonstrating that your apprenticeship training programmes meet the Accreditation standards required to make a successful application. 17 < Terms & Conditions of Accreditation I agree: to ensure that all personnel follow a code of conduct and undertake CPD not to use the accreditation in such a manner as to bring the CII into disrepute, and/or not to make any statement regarding accreditation which is untrue or may be considered misleading to discontinue the use of all claims to accreditation that contain any reference to the CII or accreditation upon suspension, non renewal or withdrawal of accreditation, and to return any certificates issued by the CII that my training provider meets the Accredited Apprenticeship Training Provider standards that an observer from CII may attend an apprenticeship learning session to verify that the Apprenticeship Training Provider standards are being met to pay the fees detailed below to continued compliance with the accreditation standards whilst holding CII Accreditation 12.
