1 Care Taker of Missionary Summary: Crossroads supports many missionaries abroad and in the Netherlands. We would like to have a closer connection with them from Crossroads. You would keep in contact with one of our missionaries that is supported by XRDS, writing cards, sending s, checking how he/she/they are doing. If you would like to "adopt" a missionary with care and communications, this is your job! Possible gifts needed: Encouraging / Exhorting Abilities Needed: Like to write and connecting with people. Experience needed: None Involvement: Once a month from home. Additional: Great and easy thing to get involved in from home. Orientation Process: Explore if there is a missionary that you would like to connect with. Contact: missions@xrds.nl Prayer Point Coordinator Summary: Someone to send the monthly praise and prayer point to all our missionaries + the reminder and collect all the answers into Word document and deliver that to the prayer people for the Missions prayer time. Possible gifts needed: Administration Abilities Needed: Administration, computer & skills Experience needed: None Involvement: Once a month Orientation Process: Explanation of the mailbox and the missionaries overview Contact: missions@xrds.nl

2 Prayer Team Member/Intercessor Summary: There are several places to get involved. For instance: Monday Prayer- to pray for the people and concerns of our church community, Missions prayer - to pray for Crossroads missionaries, Prayer for Families and Children - to pray for the families and children of our church community, Prayer for the city of Amsterdam - to pray for the pastors, Churches and the city of Amsterdam. Possible gifts needed: Discernment, Faith, and Intercession Abilities Needed: A pray-er/intercessor must be able to listen to God and to others while praying, able to pray silently and/or out loud when asked or needed. Experience needed: None, as long as you have the desire to pray and a humble, teachable attitude to grow in the abilities mentioned above. Involvement: Monday Prayer -every Monday night, Missions prayer- every 4th Sunday of the month, Families and Children - every Sunday, Prayer for the city of Amsterdam - Three times a year Orientation Process: Coaching/teaching in prayer/intercession is made available when needed. Contact: prayer@xrds.nl Care Team Helper Summary: To be available to help with practical needs or need for contact in our community, using the skills you have, including house repair, cooking, financial management, transportation, talking and praying. Possible gifts needed: Serving/Ministry/Helps Abilities Needed: Practical skills and willingness to serve, sometimes in complex situations Experience needed: Experience with the skill you are offering is helpful as well as experience with talking with people Involvement: As needed and you are available. 3 Regional Contact People Department: Community Care Summary: To connect Crossroaders who need practical or pastoral support with others who live near them who are able to help. Possible gifts needed: Administration, Encouraging / Exhorting, Serving/Ministry/Helps Abilities Needed: Ability to speak English, Dutch helpful, good communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience needed: People experience is helpful Involvement: As needs arise in the region in which you live Additional: Best done by someone who is available at least once a day for phone or contact. Contact: deacon@xrds.nl Missions Stand Coordinator Summary: Someone to send the missionaries the invitation to participate in the Missions expo stand which happens on every second Sunday of the month. Keeping the schedule up to date and making sure the missionary knows what is expected and that the right names are mentioned in the bulletin. Possible gifts needed: Administration Abilities Needed: Computer skills, and Word. Experience needed: None. Involvement: Once a month for connecting with missionaries and xrds. 4 Personal Prayer Team Member Summary: To pray with people after each service. Possible gifts needed: Discernment, Intercession Abilities Needed: Self-awareness and insight into the needs of others. Ability to listen and to communicate in an encouraging and spiritually helpful manner. Personality: Relational Experience needed: some experience in prayer helpful Involvement: Once or twice per month on a Sunday. Additional: Because spiritual maturity is needed for this ministry, a conversation with one of the prayer ministry leaders will be requested before recommending taking a role in this ministry. Orientation Process: Ministry leaders will orient you. Occasional training as a team. Contact: ppt@xrds.nl Child Care for Special Needs Child Summary: To assist a child in a wheel chair and developmental challenges; help her to get to a Sunday School class or walk with her in the hallway.. Possible gifts needed: Care/Service/Helps Abilities Needed: Love for children Personality: any Experience needed: none (experience with special needs children is an asset, but not necessary) Involvement: once a month during he first service. Orientation Process: the parents will provide the necessary information Contact: children@xrds.nl

5 Kids Playtime Supervisor Summary: To oversee and supervise kids activities. Supervise games for children of different ages, or watch movies with them. Spend time with the children and provide the parents with an opportunity to attend the service or a meeting, knowing that their children are having fun and are safe. Create a safe and loving atmosphere for children of different ages. Possible gifts needed: Service/Helps/Care Abilities Needed: Love for children Experience needed: none Involvement: once a month during the 2nds or 3 rd service. Orientation Process: on the job Contact: kidzone@xrds.nl Nursery/Crèche Volunteer Department: Children Summary: Make the 0-2 year olds feel safe and loved. Comfort them when they cry and play with them when they feel happy. Possible gifts needed: Caring/serving Abilities Needed: Love for kids Experience needed: None Involvement: Once every 5 weeks during the 1st service Orientation Process: On the job training, Contact: children@xrds.nl

6 Small Group Leader/Helper Department: Children Summary: Work with a small group of about 8-10 children aged 7-10 once a month. To guide them with prayer/games/craft/chatting through Bible related themes/learning memory verses. Possible gifts needed: Caring Abilities Needed: Enjoy working alongside children, patience, and willingness to be part of a team, fun, listening, willing to get involved and "go with the flow" Experience needed: None Involvement: Once or twice a month Orientation Process: On the job training by enthusiastic team Contact: children@xrds.nl Pastoral Care Department: Pastoral Care Summary: To talk with people who need support. Listen to them without judging and help them find their own way in life with God. Possible gifts needed: Encouraging / Exhorting, Knowledge, Pastor/Shepherding, Wisdom, comforter Abilities Needed: A warm and caring heart for people and knowlegde of scripture and psychology Personality: A good, nonjudgemental listener and willing to learn. Experience needed: Mature christian with life experience Involvement: Ongoing for one or two hours a week or on a project basis. Orientation Process: Interview Contact: deacon@xrds.nl

7 Special Needs Children Helper Summary: Give your care and undivided attention to a child with special needs on a Sunday morning. Help them to experience the love of God through your care and commitment to them. Assist the teacher by creating a safe and friendly environment, so that children could listen to the Bible lesson, worship and play. Possible gifts needed: Care/Service/Helps Abilities Needed: Love for children Personality: any Experience needed: No previous experience is necessary, you will get training from the leader of the ministry Involvement: 2 times a month on Sunday during the 1st service Orientation Process: Interview Contact: children@xrds.nl Prayer Warriors for Alpha Summary: We're looking for prayer warriors who are willing to come to the Ministry Center for 2 (or more!) evenings during the Alpha Course. You share a meal with the participants and the team from 7 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday's. At 8 PM the participants join a talk and discussion groups, and you will pray (with 1 or 2 others) for Alpha in a separate room during this time slot. Possible gifts needed: Discernment, Faith, and Intercession Personality: any Experience needed: some experience in prayer helpful Involvement: You don't need to sign up for the full 12 weeks.
