1 Sleep Squad: The Movie Transcript Act One SCENE 1 Z: My name s Z, and yes, that is me about to crash. I don t know how this started. I don t know how it came to this. But I do know it has something to do with sleep. SCENE 2 DREAM MASTER: If we disrupt their sleep, we disrupt their lives. NIGHTMARE PATROL GIRL #1: The city will be ours. NIGHTMARE PATROL GIRL #2: I can t wait. NIGHTMARE PATROL BOY #1: Our plan can t fail. DREAM MASTER: Let s get to work. SCENE 3 QUAKE: Yo, Z, I love your new chair. IQ: Yeah, I invented it myself. It s connected to his mind. QUAKE: Cool! STEALTH: Sorry I m late. Z: No problem, Stealth. Team, be sure to have a good night s sleep, because tomorrow s gonna be a big day. SCENE 4 DREAM MASTER: I d like two extra-large pizzas for the Quake residence. DELIVERY WOMAN: Pizza delivery 1

BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: Hey, guys, don t you think this is fun? BLUEBERRY BASSIST: Yeah. BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: Hey, maybe we should go to sleep now. BLUEBERRY BASSIST: No. BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: I don t think so. BLUEBERRY BASSIST: We should talk all night. BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: Yeah, I feel that s boring, sleeping. There s no noise, so quiet. It s too silent to be sleeping right now. SCENE 5 ALL BLUEBERRIES SINGING ROADBLOCK : Roadblock BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: What did you do? You were off beat! BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: You were playing the wrong notes! You were playing the wrong chords! BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: Well, the beat matters more. BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: Next time, play the right notes. BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: You re always doing the wrong beat. BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: You re always doing the wrong notes. 2

3 BLUEBERRY BASSIST: Well, I m leaving. BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: I m just having a bad day. BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: I didn t get enough sleep last night. THE BLUEBERRIES PERFORMING ROADBLOCK : Roadblock If your room at night is filled with white light, that s a roadblock If you eat caffeine, before it s time to sleep, that s a roadblock Nice sleep is what you need for the roadblock QUAKE: I really love this band. STEALTH: Me, too. GECKO: Me, too. IQ: I wish I could play guitar with this band. BLUEBERRIES SINGING ROADBLOCK: Roadblock SCENE 6 EVERGREEN FOREST: This is Evergreen Forest reporting for BTN, Bedtime News. This just in. The popular group, the Blueberries have officially split up after a series of arguments. QUAKE: No way! STEALTH: It can`t be. GECKO: It can`t be true. 3

4 IQ: Nooo! SCENE 7 NIGHTMARE PATROL BOY #1: The plan is working we ll take them down one by one. SCENE 8 EVERGREEN FOREST: The Dream Masters at large in our city, and it would appear that a lot of people are not getting enough sleep. The results are devastating. Our city is in trouble. Sleep Squad, where are you? SCENE 9 STEALTH: So tired. QUAKE: I feel like something strange has happened to the city. IQ: Yeah. It s getting very creepy, all of a sudden. Z: Gecko, could you stop playing that, so I could think? GECKO: Oh, sorry. IQ: Sleep Saver just said that Dream Master s taking over the city. STEALTH: I m in no mood for this today. QUAKE: I say we go kick his... Z: Ah! A wise team doesn t rush to a battle. Help me out here, IQ. IQ: I don t know. I agree with her, this time. Let s kick some butt! Even Sleep Saver agrees. GECKO: Yeah, let s go. 4

5 STEALTH: Normally, I agree with you, Z, but this time I m gonna let my stick do the talking. Z: Come on, Dream Master. Chicken? Too scared to show your face? DREAM MASTER: Don t worry. We re coming. MUSIC PLAYING SLEEP SAVER #1: Oh, no. We re too late. SLEEP SAVER #2: We might as well join in. BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: I ve been looking for a fight today. Let s go. Z: This can t be happening! SLEEP SAVER #2: Hey! What happened? STEALTH: I can t get through this roadblock! QUAKE: I m coming, Stealth! IQ: My calculations say we can t win this. Z: Stop this hero s don t act this way. Z: I can walk? Who are you? PROFESSOR ECSTATIC: They call me Professor Ecstatic. Z: You re a famous player on the Four King. You look different. Can you help me? PROFESSOR ECSTATIC: Sometimes the answer is simpler than you think. Sometimes you just have to put your troubles to sleep. Z: I get it! Here we go again. I feel like I m in some kind of loop. Z: Whoa, that was close. Thanks, Gecko. GECKO: No problem. 5

6 Z: Get this. It s all a dream. It doesn t have to be like this. Z: The answer is education. DREAM MASTER: You figured out our game. Z: I know your weakness now. DREAM MASTER: Your best shot. Z: Sing a lullaby. ALL NIGHTMARE PATROL: No!! EVERYONE EXCEPT NIGHTMARE PATROL SINGS Rock-a-bye baby. Z: We did it, team! Z: We ll have a good night s sleep. SLEEP SAVER #1: And to all a good night! SCENE 10 ALL SLEEP SAVERS: Sleep Savers! SLEEP SAVER #3: You can t eat a full meal before bed. Eat a healthy snack. QUAKE: Thank you. SLEEP SAVER #3: I said a healthy snack. STEALTH: I think that looks good. SLEEP SAVER #1: When it s bedtime, you shouldn t have any distractions like that. SLEEP SAVER #1: And no pets in your room. SLEEP SAVER #4: Video games are distracting. SLEEP SAVER #1: But I was gonna get the high score. 6

7 SLEEP SAVER #4: Maybe tomorrow. SLEEP SAVER #4: And no computers. SLEEP SAVER #2: No caffeine at night. Try water. SLEEP SAVER #2: It might seem fun, but you can t stay up all night talking. SLEEP SAVER #4: Or you ll be cranky the next day. BLUEBERRY DRUMMER: You were playing the wrong notes! You were playing the wrong chords! BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: Well, the beat matters more. SLEEP SAVER #2: Next time, play the right notes. BLUEBERRY GUITARIST: You re always playing the wrong beat. It s a roadblock. We re sorry. EVERGREEN FOREST: Good evening. This is Evergreen Forest reporting for BTN, Bedtime News. Great news. The former group, the Blueberries, have become a band once again. They will be performing at the Sleep Squad headquarters. MUSIC PLAYING NIGHTMARE PATROL GIRL #1: I feel better today. NIGHTMARE PATROL GIRL #2: It s gonna be a great day. NIGHTMARE PATROL BOY #1: I don t feel like being evil today. DREAM MASTER: I feel different. BLUEBERRIES PERFORMING ROADBLOCK : If you eat a meal instead of getting in your bed, that s a roadblock If it s your choice to have too much noise, that s a roadblock 7
