2 grooming We all know how women go ga-ga over their hair care products, so it s not exactly shocking that one of the first things they notice in a guy is [ his hair. ] Fortunately, hair care for men is generally much simpler than for women (especially since most guys aren t going to spend an hour to get ready to go out!) If there was a single soap that could wash your hair, face and body without completely frizzing out your hair, it d be a #1 seller, but there isn t one because hair needs to be treated properly, just like your skin. If you have an oily face, you would use face products for oily skin. Same goes for your hair - if your hair is oily look for a product that targets oily hair. The main concerns for hair are generally: dry hair/dry scalp, oily/fine/limp hair, frizzy hair and split ends. All these symptoms can be targeted with the right products. 3 T hinning hair looks very lifeless, has no volume to it, can be torture to style, and obviously can be an indication of the early stages of balding. Hair like this desperately needs nutrients, so look into getting hair products that are nutrient-fortified. Normally you lose an average of 50 to 100 hairs a day, which gets replaced with new hair within the same hair follicle, but with age this process will slow down, and eventually lost hair might not replace itself. The causes of thinning hair are varied, and can include thyroid problems, certain medications, low serum iron. Of course the biggest cause is hereditary. There are many products on the market to address hair loss, but we would suggest consulting a dermatologist about hair replacement treatments. You can also consult your doctor about Propecia, the first FDAapproved drug treatment for hair loss. Remember, some oil is necessary for keeping your hair protected and healthy, and your goal should be achieving balance. 4 I grooming f you re bald you have it easy, so easy! To give you that nice shiny scalp all you need to do is shampoo, exfoliate and moisturize - 3 easy steps! Now you re thinking bald guys need shampoo? If you re bald you still need to use a shampoo (not face soap on your head), because if you do decide to grow your hair you want be able to grow healthy looking hair. Exfoliating will help to remove dead skin and dirt, but you don t need to do this step everyday, only twice a week. Finally, moisturizing your scalp will keep it shiny and healthy looking. Avoid showering with excessively hot water if you have frizzy curly hair, since the heat can dry it out even further.
