Key areas of electronic feedback in second language writing are examined from three aspects computer-conferencing automated feedback and corpora-based feedback. The research shows that it is complicated to evaluate students' compositions and to provide feedback via computer. Future research into electronic feedback should seek to integrate feedback with writing development instruction and context. Key words Electronic Feedback Feedback Modes Second Language Writing 16
