The Head of Marketing & PR at South Staffordshire College is a new and exciting role that provides an opportunity to create and shape a new Marketing & PR Unit within one of the most successful colleges in the country. The College is seeking an outstanding candidate with a strong demonstrable understanding of innovative marketing strategies and progressive approaches to digital marketing that capture the imagination and supports growth. Whilst having experience and an understanding of the full suite of marketing and PR approaches, the ideal candidate will possess a detailed understanding of the cultures of digital marketing channels and how to track the metrics that matter, as well as integrating the best tools and practices for each platform to deliver outstanding results. Job Profile The primary purpose of the Head of Marketing & PR is to be responsible for developing and maintaining innovative marketing & PR strategies to support and drive strategic organisation objectives. 5 Scope of Responsibilities To create and implement a Marketing & PR strategy that is future proof. Provide a supportive and enabling culture for the marketing & PR team that promotes innovation. To support innovative curriculum development that enables the college to achieve its growth objectives through the provision of timely insight into market trends and developments. To manage and drive a tactical market intelligence function to support innovative curriculum delivery To provide systematic competitor and comparator benchmarking analysis to inform strategies to enhance the competitive position of the college. To identify new market opportunities for growth recognising different cultures and how this impacts on the delivery of a marketing strategy. Advise delivery and support staff on new and inspiring methods of engaging with target markets. To provide expert marketing knowledge and copyright support to assist curriculum team leaders, delivery and support staff in the optimisation of promoting existing products and services to support growth. To improve and grow South Staffordshire College s online social marketing presence through growing online communities of advocacy for the organisation. Manage all social media platforms for the organisation and to raise brand awareness and advocacy through innovative approaches to digital marketing. Create and drive innovative social media strategies. To event manage all marketing and promotional activities including stakeholder events, graduation events, or any wider aspect of external focused activity for the organisation. To ensure that all events are managed to achieve maximum reputational gain. To take ownership of the college website and ensure that it is at the forefront of leading developments. To achieve optimum PR and media coverage for the college and to raise its profile in target markets and to increase recognition on national and international platforms. Prepare and deliver marketing & PR that deliver to plan, to budget, to target and achieve the required impact. The Head of Marketing & PR will also provide professional support and guidance to the Principal of The Rural Enterprise Academy. To undertake such other duties as the Chief Executive Principal may, from time to time, determine in consultation with the post holder to ensure the continued existence, viability and progress of the College. 5

Active and up to date CPD record. Marketing/business Qualification. Appropriate and demonstrable experience of implementing successful marketing leadership using the full spectrum of marketing channels. Experience of using marketing initiatives to drive positive change and innovation. Extensive experience of developing, maintaining and delivering marketing strategies to meet corporate objectives. Demonstrable ability of the application of creativity to enable innovation. Proven ability to enable a supportive learning culture that unlocks potential. Budget management experience. Project management experience with proven track record of delivery to target, within budget and to the required impact. A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. Understanding of evaluation mechanisms and the importance of evaluation in marketing. Excellent knowledge and understanding of digital media and its effective application for brand and marketing.
