1 fact sheets Help services Need help with sexuality stuff like whether you re gay, or what to do if you re facing rejection, abuse or violence because of your sexuality? There s a national service as well as state / territory based services with volunteers who ve had personal experience or training in dealing with this stuff. Find services in the Australian Capital Territory, in New South Wales, in the Northern Territory, in Queensland, in South Australia, in Tasmania, in Victoria, or in Western Australia. Don t do it alone You don t have to figure out your sexuality or how to deal with rough situations on your own. If you want help figuring out stuff to do with being gay, lesbian, same sex attracted or whatever s on your mind, there are people in every State and Territory who are available to talk to. If you need help now please call Kids Helpline or Lifeline on , both of which provide trained counsellors that you can talk to 24/7. They are available to talk about whatever is going on, and are trained to help you figure out what to do. If you experience threats or violence, report it to the police on National Services Anyone looking to talk to someone about sexuality or gender, who is outside the local call area of State / Territory capital cities, can call the below number/website to get connected with their local sexuality & gender support service. 7pm 10pm (local time) You might need this if... As well as support services, they have a range of peers support programs and social events providing a safe space for young people in Queensland. Western Australia Gay & Lesbian Community Services (WA) The GLCS Telephone Counselling and Information Line is available to anyone to talk about sexuality and gender, no matter what they identify as. Their phone counsellors can also refer you to gender and sexuality friendly doctors, psychologists, counsellors or lawyers, and other community groups that you might wish to connect with.
