1 Broadway Theatre Rental Information Effective April 20, 2014 (prices subject to change without notice) Theatre Capacity: 430 plus 6 wheelchair stations. Total 436. *A 50% deposit is REQUIRED TO CONFIRM ALL RENTALS* DAYTIME THEATRE RENTAL BASE RATES There is a 3-hour minimum charge for daytime rental only. Renter must be out by 5:00 pm. Regular Daytime Rate: $85.00 / hr Rate*: $70.00 / hr * organizations must provide their non-profit status number. EVENING THEATRE RENTAL BASE RATES ONE PERFORMANCE IN A DAY Sunday Wednesday $ G.S.T. $ G.S.T. Thursday - Saturday $ G.S.T. $ G.S.T. TWO PERFORMANCES IN A DAY Sunday - Wednesday $ G.S.T. $ G.S.T. 2 THE FOLLOWING IS INCLUDED IN BASE RATE: STAFF Box Office and Concession staff will be provided by the venue. Where applicable, advance ticket sales will be administrated by Theatre staff during business hours (M-F 12:00pm- 6:30pm upstairs office; 7:00pm 9:30pm downstairs ticket booth). USHERS/TICKET SCANNERS The Broadway normally arranges for at minimum two volunteer ticket scanners/ushers unless otherwise specified or requested. PUBLICITY Broadway Theatre will put up posters and other publicity material at the Theatre at no extra charge. If time permits we will also post (if supplied) in the Broadway District. Broadway Theatre will list your event on the calendar page of the monthly schedule no charge (2,500 distributed monthly) as well as on our website. All Broadway Theatre regular promotional (CFCR Radio, CTV, SHAW TV, all print publications in Saskatoon that carry our listings) will include your event. All forms of paid publicity are the responsibility of the promoter/renter. Rates for advertising on-screen are available upon request. Renter is to supply design in preferred format screen advertising. As space permits, the Broadway will feature your event on the marquee at no extra charge. FACILITY ACCESS Where applicable, live event rentals include access to two Green Rooms small upstairs and large downstairs, each with own bathroom. FURNITURE The Broadway Theatre owns six 6 and four 3 folding tables for renters use, as well as ~50 folding chairs. Due to limited lobby space and fire code restrictions, the placement/arrangement of display tables must be approved by management prior to the event. THE FOLLOWING IS AVAILABLE AT EXTRA COST TO THE RENTER: FRONT-OF-HOUSE: TICKETING Rush or Assigned Seating, $25 setup fee. Ticket proof will be provided for renter s review once the Theatre has received event/date/time information. Online/advance ticketing available at no extra charge call for details on ticketing options. BOX OFFICE CHARGES
3 The Theatre retains 5% of sales for tickets sold through Theatre Box Office (minimum fee: $50.00) (We also collect a service charge from the consumer at $2 per ticket (all tickets $19.50 or less), or $3 per ticket (tickets $20 and over). This is called the Venue Heritage Fee and is applicable to all events using Broadway Theatre ticketing. The Theatre reserves the right to retain no less than 40 tickets to sell through Box Office (in the event of walk-in or telephone ticket enquiries). MERCHANDISE For events requiring merchandise sales, the Broadway charges a 15% commission fee on soft goods (apparel) and 10% on recordings. This is an industry standard. Merchandise person(s), display table and float, body forms for shirt display as well as debit and credit card acceptance are supplied by Theatre. A/V and LIGHTING: AUDIO The Broadway Theatre DOES NOT have an in-house audio system. For live events needing complex audio, renters must bring in audio or contract local providers (contacts available upon request). Costs variable. For events with simple audio needs (eg: keynote speaker, corporate presentation, film introduction), The Theatre s small PA system is available to rent. $75/event, includes 1 wired microphone. Additional mics (incl. table mics, lapel mics, wireless) available at extra cost. PA specs: 500 watt, 8-channel system, ¼ and XLR inputs, with cables for ipod. STAGE LIGHTING A 56-fixture in house rig is available for $180/event (or $80/event for a simple stage wash with no colour or specials). Lighting specs: -4 Chauvet SlimPar Hex 6 IRC -4 Theatrixx xfocus Par 36 White -24 Chauvet Colordash Par Quad 18-8 Chauvet Ovation E-190WW -6 Chauvet Colordash Par-Hex Chauvet Colorband PiX (5 upper and 5 lower units) SHOW TECHS Payable by renter. The Broadway has a collective agreement with IATSE local 300. As per Union agreement for Live Events, producer can bring in first two loaders/technicians of their choice. IF a 3 rd Tech is required, it must be a Facility Technician, arranged by Broadway Theatre Management with the IATSE 300 office, at cost to renter. Wages and details available upon request. PROJECTOR A ceiling-mounted data projector is available for $75/event, with VGA patch at stage OTHER: SECURITY At the discretion of management security can be arranged by the Theatre, with costs charged to renter. STAGE EXTENSION For events requiring a larger acting area, a 120 square-foot (6 x 20 ) extension can be built out from the proscenium for $200/event.
4 INSURANCE As per contract, proof of insurance is necessary for all live events. Please have your insurance agent include: Friends of the Broadway Theatre 715 Broadway Avenue Saskatoon, Sask. S7N 1B3 under Additional Insured with a 30 day cancellation clause Note: There is option for Broadway Theatre to add renter coverage under their in-house policy; Call for details. OUTSIDE CONCESSION The Broadway charges a flat fee of $75 on sales of any food and beverage brought into the Theatre. Outside concession items must be approved in advance by theatre management. INTERMISSION One minute intermission is required per show. $200 penalty if no intermission is allowed. (This policy applies only to certain types of events confirm details with management at time of booking)..
