2 CONSIDERING CONSIDERING the decision taken by the Council of Lecturers of the single doctorate courses, relative to each exam type; any future changes and/or integration to the present selection announcement will be published only on the website: D E C R E ES: SECTION I CALLS FOR THE SELECTION PROCESSES FOR THE RESEARCH DOCTORATE COURSES Art.1 For the academic year 2014/2015 at the University of Bari the XXX cycle of Research Doctorate Courses has been instituted. The Official Public Call is open for the selection by comparative evaluation of tiles and exams, for the Research Doctorate courses. The official duration of the doctorate course is three years, beginning on 3 rd November For each Doctorate Course the main features have been reported in the Tables below detailing the dates of the admission written and oral exams, the place where the exam will be held and the number of places available, and where necessary the places available for each curriculum. The exam procedures will be detailed in the respective Tables. The number of scholarships awarded may increase following financing from public research bodies or private qualified organizations, obtained by the deadline of the present call,. The scholarships financed by public research bodies or private qualified organizations will be governed by specific agreements signed by the financing bodies and the University by the deadline of the present call. 2

Therefore, applicants shall not receive any other invitation or correspondence regarding the tests and must come to the selection on the day and at time stated in each PhD Course table, as in art.1. Absent candidates, for whatever reason, will be considered as renouncing the selection. Any changes to the date and time of the exams will be notified by the University to each applicant. 16

17 Art. 3 Eligible candidates, irrespective of their age and citizenship, must be in possession of the following: - an Italian university degree pre-reform regime laurea vecchio ordinamento (4 years); - an Italian laurea specialistica/magistrale (3+2 years); - an academic qualification issued by a foreign institution and recognized as equivalent by an Italian academic authority. Candidates in possession of an academic qualification which has not be declared equivalent to an Italian degree shall demand the equivalence for the sole purpose of the admission to the Course they are interested in. In this case, candidates must enclose: - a copy of the degree certificate specifying the list of exams, translated into Italian and certified by the individual candidate. The translation shall be subscribed by the candidate under his/her responsibility. The Board of Examiners shall assess the suitability of the candidates qualification for the admission to the present selection, according to the regulations applied in Italy and in the Country where the qualification was awarded, and in the light of international agreements concerning qualifications recognition. Within 60 days from the date of enrolment, successful candidates must provide the following: the translation of the qualification specifying the list of exams, officially translated into Italian and certified by the relevant Italian diplomatic authorities (Embassies/Consulates); dichiarazione di valore of the qualification issued abroad, delivered by the relevant Italian diplomatic authorities (Embassies/Consulates). Applicants who have not yet been awarded the qualification requested for the admission to the present selection procedure may also apply, respecting the deadline (September 15 th 2014, h 12,00 - local time), provided they will have been awarded their qualification no later than September 22 nd Once they have been awarded the academic title, candidates must send, no later than September 23 rd 2014, h 12:00, a Statuary Declaration ( autocertificazione ) or a declaration ( for all qualifications issued outside EU territories) containing the name of the University which has awarded the title, the type of degree (an Italian university degree pre-reform regime or an Italian laurea specialistica/magistrale ) and the final evaluation, together with a copy of a valid identity document to Area Dottorato di ricerca, by to maria.masiello@uniba.it or by fax Should candidates fail to meet the above stated terms and modalities, they will be excluded from the selection. Art. 4 Application and payment of the admission test fee of paid for the selection, shall be submitted no later than September 15 th 2014, h. 12,00 - under penalty of exclusion from selection procedure. Applications shall only be filled in online, through the platform available at : a) Connect to the above indicated address; choose the Doctorate Course; carefully read the Call and then connect to the service for the online submission; b) Proceed with the registration onto the portal and then, fill in all the information required for the on-line application; c) Print the application and the MAV ( Modulo avviso pagamento ) payment form for the admission test fee. N.B. It is suggested to indicate a valid address in the application, for any further communication and in order to receive log-in information on the Esse 3 platform. 17

18 Once the online application form has been completed, the candidate must print it and carefully check the information filled in, in order to verify them. Should the candidate find any errors in the personal data and/or in the final mark of the degree, he must correct them, crossing out the wrong information and writing the exact ones. Applicants must proceed no later than September 15 th 2014, under penalty of exclusion, to the payment of the MAV (Modulo avviso pagamento), printed at the end of the online enrollment. The MAV(Modulo avviso pagamento), for the contribution of 45,00 Euros can be paid by one of the following modalities: a) At a CARIME Bank or any other banks of the UBI-Banca Group; b) At any bank adhering to MAV service; c) On for those bank account holders who have activated the QuiUBI service; d) By debit card at any ATM of Carime Bank, UBI-Banca Group or other banks which supply with this service. N.B.: The copy of the receipt of the payment must be attached to the application form. The fee of is not refundable. In compliance with Law no 104/1992 and subsequent amendments, candidates with disabilities may request special aid and extra time to complete the admission examinations. The request must be hand-delivered no later than September 15 th 2014 to Area Protocollo e Gestione Documentale Settore Protocollo Riservato of the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro Piazza Umberto I, n.1 Bari, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00, or sent by registered mail, or equivalent, to Direzione Generale of the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Piazza Umberto, n.1 Bari, together with the certification of the disability issued by a public health service, in accordance with the regulations, the medical certificate stating the type and the level of the disability. Candidates with disturbi specifici di apprendimento (DSA) learning disabilities, certified in accordance to the Law no 170/2010, will benefit of an extra time of 30%. The above mentioned procedure is the only mode of enrollment for the selection. The online application can be done by any computer connected to internet. In such case, the following must be written on the envelope containing the application: Concorso, per titoli ed esami. Dottorato di Ricerca. XXX ciclo. Applications arriving after September 15 th 2014, at 12:00, will not be accepted and the postmark date will not be taken into account, but only the date of receipt by the University. ATTENTION: the online application shall not replace the paper copy which must be duly subscribed by the candidate and which remains the sole and valid act for the admission to the selection.
