1 MANAGE YOUR PET S INFLAMMATION
2 About Inflammation: Inflammation is the body s way of helping itself heal after injury. Even though its effects are beneficial, the inflammatory response process can interfere with the normal function of the injured tissues. As a result, your pet may experience the clinical signs of inflammation such as redness, heat and swelling. However, once inflammation resolves, the affected area can once again work normally. Yet sometimes, inflammation fails to subside normally. The original issue resolves, but the inflammation does not recede with it. Virtually every organ system in your pet s body can be impacted by inflammation, which may keep your pet from performing everyday functions and may even cause permanent damage. Duralactin products are recommended to: Help manage inflammation Duralactin Canine Chewable Tablets Duralactin Canine Soft Chews Duralactin Feline Capsules Help manage inflammation and support joint health Duralactin Canine Joint Plus Soft Chews Help manage inflammation and support healthy skin Duralactin Feline + Fatty Acids Soft Chews Help manage inflammation and support respiratory and ocular health Duralactin Feline L-Lysine Paste
3 Manage your pet s inflammation with Duralactin brand products How do Duralactin products work? One of the major events that occur in the inflammatory response is the entrance of inflammatory cells into injured tissues. This process is called neutrophil migration. MicroLactin, the active ingredient in Duralactin products, inhibits neutrophil migration. That is, it keeps inflammatory cells within the bloodstream. It acts on a process in which the body typically allows inflammatory cells (neutrophils) to enter inflamed tissues. If inflammatory cells do not leave the bloodstream, they cannot participate in the inflammatory process. What is MicroLactin? The benefits of breast milk are well known. Most people are aware that milk contains antibodies and antioxidants. However, MicroLactin also contains a factor that can help manage inflammation. Scientists have discovered how to harness this factor of milk and have made it available to your pet in Duralactin products. UP TO $10 OFF ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS * Mail-in rebate form available at duralactin.com
4 duralactin.com Which pets should use Duralactin products? As directed by your veterinarian, Duralactin products can be used as a nutraceutical alone or with other therapies to help manage inflammation and support normal activity and wellness in the following: Dogs, cats and horses Breeds prone to inflammation Young animals diagnosed with inflammation Older animals (dogs and cats >7 years) Animals not responding to other therapies Animals experiencing adverse effects with other therapies Animals with a selective palate How long should my pet take Duralactin products? In many cases, inappropriate inflammation continues for months to years; however, you usually cannot see it because inflammation occurs at a microscopic, cellular level. Because of this, your pet may require long-term treatments in order to keep the underlying inflammation under control. Because Duralactin products do not have side effects seen with other therapies, your pet can safely take them for years. To ensure long-term benefits, do not stop using Duralactin products unless recommended to do so by your pet s veterinarian. A SMART DEFENSE AGAINST INFLAMMATION.
