1 Technical Center Course Descriptions Earlbeck Gases & Technologies offers a complete curriculum of welding classes designed to provide our students with the skills they need. The path to a welding career starts with Fundamentals of Welding where you will learn the basics of the major welding processes. After fundamentals, you may chose an intermediate class in either Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) or Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG). Each of these classes works toward plate certification to a common welding code. Upon completion of an intermediate class, you may choose to proceed to pipe welding with the advanced class in the same welding process. Perform cutting of steel, aluminum and stainless steel with Oxy-Fuel and Plasma cutting equipment. Perform groove and fillets welds on carbon steel in the flat and horizontal positions with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Gas Metal Arc Welding Shielded Metal Arc Welding Read and interpret basic welding symbols. Understand the basics of Visual, Dye Penetrant, Mag Particle, Ultrasonic and Radiographic welding inspection methods. Understand what a welding code is. Understand the metallurgy of common alloys Fundamentals Of Welding (36 Hours) DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to provide necessary knowledge and skills for an entry-level welder.
