2 Hanger Residency Program In 1996, Hanger Clinic established a national residency program that is responsible for the organization, recruitment, management, and oversight of all Hanger/NCOPE accredited residency sites across the United States. Since that time, we have trained over 800 Orthotic and Prosthetic residents at our 150+ NCOPE accredited residency sites. We offer a comprehensive, state of the art, patient care oriented training environment that focuses on the development of new practitioners in the most efficient, effective manner possible. In addition, we have established Primary Training Centers that are especially focused on resident training within a structured medical residency model. Our resident graduates perform much better than the national average on the certificate and licensure board exams and the vast majority remains with Hanger to become industry leaders in education, clinical practice, business, and management. With several business units serving different segments of the O&P industry, Hanger Clinic continues to find new ways to empower human potential for those with physical challenges, while remaining true to our rich history of superior clinical outcomes and customer service. Our Mission Our mission is to prepare the new graduate for competent, autonomous clinical practice in the field of orthotics and prosthetics. We utilize a comprehensive, gradual experiential model within a broad-based professional and academic environment conducive to the education and training of tomorrow s corporate and industry leaders. Primary Training Centers Hanger Clinic has strategically placed Primary Training Centers throughout the continental United States. These premium residency locations have the benefits of: Scope of Practice: The clinic has a patient base that is diverse relative to age, etiology, and diagnostic sub groups. Volume: The clinic has sufficient patient interactions to give the residents enough repetitions to improve their skills. Oversight/Teaching Environment: The clinic has a commitment from its clinicians to dedicate the time and energy to train residents on a daily basis. Through direct clinical contact and didactic learning, this residency aims to develop confident, independent, and innovative clinicians that are prepared to provide outstanding care in a variety of settings. Additionally, we aim to prepare the resident for a successful outcome on pending board examinations. 1) Rotations - Under the guidance of the Residency Directors, residents will learn from multiple mentors and will be exposed to a variety of problem-solving scenarios. 2) Observation Observation of surgeries; as well as, UNM's Gait lab. 3) Research - Established relationships with the University of New Mexico provides a gateway to research options and opportunities. 4) Fabrication - Scheduled fabrication time with our in-house Market Fabrication Center will teach you the skill necessary to manufacture orthotic and prosthetic devices meeting and exceeding industry standards. 5) Education- Educational courses are provided monthly to assist in staying on top of the most progressive technologies and techniques. Board examination preparation will be provided by utilizing Hanger resources as well as established relationships with experts in board study preparation.

4 Residency Director Brentt Ramharter, CPO, Clinic Manager Brentt Ramharter is an ABC Certified Prosthetist Orthotist and Clinic Manager for Hanger Orthopedic Group. Brentt is also President and founder of OandPBoarPrep INC. OandPBoardPrep INC, is dedicated to providing comprehensive Orthotic and Prosthetic specific study guides and simulated exams to aid O&P residents in preparation for their board exams. Brentt Graduated with high honors from The University of Montana with a degree in Exercise Science. He attended Northwestern University in Illinois where he earned his certificate in both disciplines Prosthetics and Orthotics. Brentt Specializes in the design and manufacturing of Prosthetics and Orthotics. He also enjoys patient care and prides himself in always looking for an improved outcome for his clients. Brentt is an outdoor enthusiast and very active in his community both socially and professionally. Residency Preceptor Gabrielle Brodehl, CPO, Clinic Manager Gabrielle (Gabe) Brodehl is an ABC certified prosthetist orthotist, ABC certified mastectomy fitter as well as Clinic Manager of Hanger's West Albuquerque/Rio Rancho office. She obtained her prosthetics and orthotics degree from the University of Washington after obtaining Bachelors degrees in Biology and Anthropology. Due to an extensive residency in a pediatric hospital, Gabe specializes in pediatric orthotic and prosthetic care including treatment of plagiocephalic head shapes by use of cranial remolding orthoses and orthotic care and treatment of neuromuscular disorders such as spina bifida and cerebral palsy. She enjoys identifying and embracing new modalities that improve patient care, such as the WalkAide, of which she is a premier provider of. She utilizes CAD/CAM design in her practice and has won a national award for her part in the design and implementation of postoperative limb protectors. Additionally, Gabe focuses on improved technologies for prosthetic care such as vacuum suspension systems and microprocessor controlled componentry. Being a large advocate of evidence based practice, continuing education and continued advancement and knowledge of the field of O&P, Gabe can be found teaching O&P courses at universities, hosting training sessions for the medical community and speaking in front of large audiences about the field in which she happily works. Gabe and her family have called the Land of Enchantment their home since 2005 and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including backpacking, hiking, mountain biking and throwing the Frisbee.

5 Jeff Pilgrim, CPO Jeff Pilgrim is an ABC Certified Prosthetist Orthotist with Hanger Clinic in Albuquerque, NM. Jeff attended University of Texas Southwestern where he earned a Bachelor s in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Jeff sees a broad mix of patients including pediatric with a specialty in Cranial Remolding, Pediatric and Adult lower extremity Orthoses, and Adult lower extremity Prostheses and post-operative prosthetic care. Jeff completed his Orthotic residency at Eschen Prosthetics & Orthotics/ Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and his Prosthetic residency at the Manhattan Veterans Hospital. Jeff prides himself on keeping up with the latest technologies and providing consistent care with the best possible outcomes for his patients. Jeff is a member of the New Mexico Air National Guard with over 23 years of service and is currently a Master Sergeant and the NCOIC of the Vehicle Operations section for the 150th Special Operations Wing at Kirtland AFB, NM.
