This 5.5m also offers a high payload, space and excellent performance. The proven CARSON deep V gull wing hull provides high speeds when required and is very stable in all conditons. Maneuverability and handling is very positve and quickly inspires confidence. Available in various versions, all share the same rugged constructon and a tough collar. The CLASSIC 520 version has an inflatable collar forming the sides and freeboard in the traditonal manner and the FUTUREX 550 version has an interior moulding which gives a smooth and clean interior. With this version comes the benefit of hull sides providing freeboard independently of the collar. The collar is mechanically aaached to the outside of the hull and can be either air or foam filled for very heavy-duty use. Foam and air buoyancy is provided between the two skins. Under deck stowage is also provided as is also a separate locker in the foredeck for anchor stowage. An outboard well in the FUTUREX version prevents swamping during sudden stops or when reversing. 9 In addition the semi wave piercing bow will provide a longer waterline producing higher speed for a given power and enable the hull to slice through chop and waves. It is designed to slice through moderate size waves offering a more comfortable ride for the crew and passengers. Combined with the proven distinctive CARSON bow with broad spray rails beginning from the stem, it will still behave in a more conventional manner in larger waves offering above average reserve buoyancy thus minimising potential bow stuffing and at the same time keeping the spray clear for a drier ride. These new designs will take these benefits further. Power for all models may be either outboards, inboards either diesel and petrol, singles or twins and for the 9.5m triple engines are an option. Various drives are possible. Various deck layout options and roomy consoles enable each boat to be to customised as required for various professional operations. Further options include a cabin with sleeping berths, toilet and even basic cooking facilities. With added bimini tops, cockpit covers to enable additional sleeping area and long range fuel tanks all combine to make any of the Interceptor Class a great cruising and expeditions rib. A 9.5m is scheduled for build in the coming autumn and 8.5m & 7.5m professional versions currently being negotiated for delivery starting late summer.
