If you are new to exercise classes it is always best to check with your GP before you start a new activity. If you have a medical condition, recent injury (within six months), are pregnant or are new to exercise, please tell the class instructor before the class starts; they will be able to suggest other exercises that are suitable for you. 2

4 Aqua Aerobics The resistance of the water helps make your heart and lungs stronger, tones your muscles and also protects your joints and muscles from injuries. We set the class to music to make it fun. Body Combat This class is a combination of exercises such as Karate, Tai Chi, Kick-boxing and Tae Kwon Do. It is an athletic workout that will soon have you fighting fit. Body Pump This energetic class is a low-impact workout that uses weights to tone your body and help you lose weight. Low impact means that your feet never leave the ground at the same time. This helps to reduce the pressure on your muscles. Body Step This is a new version of the traditional step class. You can choose how hard you work by raising or lowering the level of your step. We set it to music, so that it is an enjoyable way to get fit. Circuit Training This class uses a course of exercises to work different parts of your body. It will make you stronger, more flexible and improve your stamina. Although this class is hard work, it is very popular and great fun for everyone. Fitball Fitball is great for toning those stubborn areas, strengthens your stomach muscles and improves your posture. This class will give all who try it a fun workout! 3

5 Spin / RPM Take on the terrain as your inspiring team coach leads you on your bike through the hills, flats and mountain peaks over the equivalent of a 25km ride. You control the intensity of the workout through the resistance dial, riding speed and position, so riders of all abilities can work out together. The more you ride the fitter you get. Ballroom Dancing A fun mix of choreographed dance steps set to music. Shape and Tone This class is a mixture of aerobic exercises to get your heart pumping, followed by toning exercises. You will use hand weights and your own body weight to tone your body. Yoga Yoga is an alternative way of exercising to improve your mind, body and spirit. Yoga improves your posture and breathing, and makes you more flexible. It also relieves stress and tension. Pilates Pilates is a great way to improve your posture, core stability and makes you more flexible. It also releases stress and tension, through a variety of floor based and balance exercises. 4

6 Body Attack This class is a mixture of energetic aerobics and exercises to improve your strength and stamina. We provide lively instructors and exciting music to motivate you. Follow the simple movements to burn off calories quickly. Not suitable for beginners. Body Balance This class is a combination of Tai Chi, Pilates and new exercises. It aims to reduce stress and pain and improve your health. Body Conditioning It s a whole body workout that can improve your overall fitness, which also makes it one of our most versatile classes. Body Conditioning classes can help you on your way to get in great shape and feel great about your body. Focusing on strength, muscular endurance and fitness conditioning, these classes will help to develop a strong and toned physique. Boot Camp Consists of physical training programs that are designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group intervals over a hour period of time. Boot camp is a mixture of cardio and resistance exercises which combines body weight exercises and free weight exercises. This will improve your balance, strength and flexibility. Cardio Mix A fun, energetic class that tones and strengthens every muscle in your body while increasing your heart rate. The mix of high and low impact exercises that burns fat with the use of body weight, dumbbells, bands, steps and mats. This class is suitable for all fitness levels. Core Blast This class aims to exercise the abdominal area, from simple to killer, to help you flatten your belly, burn fat, and strengthen your core and lower back. Elderberries Elderberries is a weekly activity session designed to cater for people aged 50 plus. Elderberries sessions offer you the opportunity to socialise, have fun and be active all at the same time. Fit2Box Sick of the same boring and repetitive work out that gets you no results. Fit2box is a dynamic boxing cardio workout designed to get you fast and effective results. Our classes are proven to get you real success. Classes are fun and constantly changing to continually challenge you to achieve your goals. Fit2box caters for all fitness levels and experience. 5

7 H.I.I.T High-Intensity Interval Training is an enhanced, intense and highly time-efficient form of interval training that conditions the whole body, boosting fitness, strength, stamina and overall physical functionality. Circuit-based, it alternates periods of intense and generally anaerobic exercise with active lower-intensity recovery periods. No prior experience is necessary. Not suitable for beginners. Insanity A high-intensity activity that forces the body to work for longer periods of time at a higher capacity than traditional workouts. As a result, people experience faster increases in cardiovascular fitness, and burn carbohydrates and fat more efficiently; as much as,000 calories per hour! Not suitable for beginners. Kettle Bells The Kettle bell is a cast iron weight, ranging from 5lbs to over 00lbs, shaped like a cannonball with a handle. Kettle bells offer a different kind of training using dynamic movements which target almost every aspect of fitness, endurance, strength, balance, agility and cardio endurance. 6

8 What to wear We suggest you wear suitable clothing such as a t-shirt and shorts or tracksuit bottoms. Please make sure you wear trainers that are suitable for the activity you are doing. Class booking conditions Non Members - All classes can be booked up to 48 hours in advance. Full payment is required at the time of booking and this payment is non-refundable, To access a class all customers must have a valid class receipt from reception. Direct Debit Members and active Leisure Pass members - All classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance,either online or at reception. You must collect your valid class receipt at least five minutes before the start of the class., either from the self-service kiosk or reception. Class Cancellation Policy - Any class booking made which the member can no longer attend must be cancelled 48 hours in advance, otherwise the full class fee will be charged to the member s account.
