Some of the words are in bold blue font. You can find out what these words mean on page 11 if you need to. Bridgend County Borough Council wants to create a new, modern library for Bridgend. We don t think the library on Wyndham Street in the town centre is big enough, and it s also difficult for some disabled people to use it. We want to know what you think about the idea of moving the library to Bridgend Recreation Centre. This short survey is your chance to have your say. The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. The survey is confidential so you don t have to tell us your name. The main reasons we would like to do this are: The library on Wyndham Street is too small Some disabled people find it hard to use It s not as well used as a library should be A library at the Rec would mean there would be more books and activities on offer, as well as a special area for children. There would also be new computers, as well as a café, a crèche, toilets, baby-changing facilities and free parking. Disabled people would also find the library easier to use. If we decided to move the library we would make sure that: The library on Wyndham Street would stay open until the new library in the Rec was ready to open The council would still be in charge of the library The council would find out if more buses could stop outside the Rec 5

Based on your responses, Cabinet will decide, at their meeting on 16 October 2012, what to do with Bridgend Library. Once they have decided what to do there will be information in the newspapers and on the council s website explaining the final decision.
