1 THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS Vacancies To further accelerate the existing excellent bilateral relations between the Government of the Republic of Uganda and the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has requested the Government of the Republic of Uganda to provide medical professionals to strengthen its health service sector. In this respect, applicants are invited from suitably qualified Ugandan Health professionals from; Public/Private/PNFP Institutions to work in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Applications should be addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and hand delivered to the Human Resource Office Room 2.5 Second Floor Plot No.2 A-B Sir Apollo Kagwa Road opposite KCCA Head Quarters not later than 31 st March The following should be attached to the application: Recent and original passport size photographs Copies of academic and professional qualifications Copies of appointment and confirmation letters where applicable Copies of Registration Certificates and valid practicing Licenses Contact addresses and telephone numbers Applicants who are serving officers in the Public Service MUST route their applications through their Responsible Officers/Heads of Department, who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay. 1

A Master of Medicine degree or its equivalent in Obs/Gyn from a recognized Applicant should be registered with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Applicant should have demonstrable qualities of leadership and integrity. A good record of Research and publications will be an added advantage. Medical Officer Special Grade (Pathology) ( 4) Posts. MB.Ch.B. degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution. A Master of Medicine degree or its equivalent in Pathology from a recognized Applicant should be registered with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Applicant should have demonstrable qualities of leadership and integrity. A good record of Research and publications will be an added advantage. 7

8 - Job title Public Health Nurse/District Health Visitor(20 Posts) Qualifications - Must be double trained in Nursing and Midwifery - from a recognized Institution - Must hold a diploma in Public Health - Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council - Must have worked for at least 3 years as a Public Health Nurse. Job title Nursing Officer (20 Posts) Qualifications - Must have a Bachelor s degree in Nursing Science from a recognized Institution - Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council - Must have worked for at least 3 years as a registered Nurse in a public or private or PNFP health Institution. Job Title Qualifications Registered Midwife (100 posts) -Must have a Diploma in Midwifery -Must be registered with the Nurses & Midwives Council -Must have 3 years relevant experience. -Good interpersonal and communication skills. 8

9 NOTE In addition to the salary, the following terms and conditions of service will apply; Contract period is 3 years. Applicants should be between the ages of 25 to 55 years. Free furnished house with water and electricity paid for by the Government Air passage to Trinidad and Tobago on first engagement for the employee only and return to Uganda at the end of engagement. Gratuity of 20% of Gross salary earned over the period of employment Settling-in allowance equivalent to one month s salary. Payment of annual registration fees to the Medical Councils by Government Transport facility allowance where applicable Meals allowance payable monthly Communication allowance payable monthly Uniform allowance Baggage allowance (Reasonable expenses incurred with respect to transport of employee belongings to and from Uganda). Free Primary and Secondary Health Care(Medical and Dental) excluding orthopedic treatment.
