1 There are a number of scholarships available to students in grades 10, 11, and 12. Please see the list below. All scholarships that have an arrow beside them must be applied for. For graduates of Forestburg School who enrolled in an Education Degree program at University: Allaire Oberg Education Student Award Awarded to a student presently enrolled in a post-secondary education program. This scholarship will be awarded to a student in elementary education or secondary education To apply for this award, please submit a letter outlining why you want to be a teacher. Please include a record of your recent marks. 2 For graduating Grade 12 students of Forestburg School: David C. Jahns Memorial Bursary This award is open to all graduating students of Forestburg School who have applied to or have been accepted by a post-secondary institution. Be sure to provide the necessary information to the Scholarship Coordinator by Sept. 10 th. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Sean Bevington Memorial Award Awarded to a grade 12 student who loves sports, has average or above marks, and contributed to making the quality of student life better. Jim Lorrain Memorial Award Awarded to one grade 10 student, one grade 11 student, and one grade 12 student each year. This award needs to be applied for. Students must be the following conditions: 1. Academic the student shall have a grade point average of at least 70% in: English, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Complementary Subjects. 2. School based extra-curricular activities the student must be active in school based sports as a player, coach, official, manager or similar participation; or be involved in year book, music (band or choral), travel club or other like activities. 3. Community involvement the student will be actively involved in the community as a volunteer or other such activity. For 1, 2, and 3 above, the student must supply references (in writing) that can verify each claim they are making. 4. The student must supply evidence that they are continuing their education in grade 11 or 12. In the case of graduating students, they must supply proof they are registered at a post-secondary institution.

Everett Oberg Masonic Memorial Award Grade 12 student who has met a wide range of criteria ranging from academics to community and school service. Forestburg Junior High Award - Grade 12 student who has contributed the most to the quality of student life from grade 7. Link Family Award Grade 12 student who has made sizeable contribution to the quality of student life. Hot Lunch Committee (1 male and 1 female) voted on by grade 12 students awarded to the student who exhibits great effort, dedication, and sportsmanship. Tyler Martz Award Grade 12 student who recognizes that there is time for all things and e everyone; is friendly and outgoing; works hard; is accepted by peers for loyalty, trust, and friendship; and wroks hard to graduate. Mary Kowk Award Grade 12 student who recognizes that there is time for all things and e everyone; is friendly and outgoing; works hard; is accepted by peers for loyalty, trust, and friendship; and wroks hard to graduate. Forestburg/Galahad Community Service Award Grade 12 student who has achieved strong academic achievement and has contributed to the community through volunteer service. Prairie Mines and Royalty Ltd. Award Grade 12 presently enrolled in a program leading to a career in some field of engineering consistent with the fields of engineering presently employed by the mining industry. Galahad Lions/Galahad Ag. Society Award - Grade 12 who is currently entering entering a program in a field of study directly or indirectly associated with a career in agriculture. Ken Litke Memorial Award Awarded to a student pursuing a career in the trades (Apprenticeship)
4 Gary Fink Memorial Award Agricultural Family Award Grade 12 student who lives on a farm and volunteers in the school and community Curtain Call Community Theatre Award To a student who has been involved in their group and/or to a person pursuing a career in fine arts. 5 For students finishing Grade 11 at Forestburg School: Jim Lorrain Memorial Award Awarded to one grade 10 student, one grade 11 student, and one grade 12 student each year.
