2 Ambassadors of the Made in Italy CremonaFiere, along with some of the most qualified companies of the Italian agro-zootechnical industry, goes to the most interesting international markets with the aim to open new trade roads. Behind the most renowned Italian agricultural and zootechnical productions, stand companies which are able to export know-how and innovative solutions, successfully adapting them to different markets worldwide. 3 Why Iran? a. The Country Surface: 1,648,195 km² (Italy: 301,340km²) Population: 80 millions (Italy: 61 millions) Government: Islamic Presidential Republic Land cultivated nowadays: 18.5 million hectares (Italy: 13 million hectares) Potentially cultivable land with technological, water and logistic adequate renovations: 51 million hectares. b. Strategic scenery Iranian Government is planning to increase by 88% the agro-zootechnical production and to double the fruit and vegetable production within Iran needs new solutions, patents, technologies, equipments, planning and assistance in order to achieve these goals. The hottest points: End of economic and financial sanctions Young population (70% below 40 years old) Increasing appeal of occidental goods 10 billion dollars allocated by the Government for the relaunch of the agro-zootechnical industry. Iranian Government encourages foreign investments in agricultural and livestock fields By 2019, the production value of the agro-zootechical sector will increase by 19%, reaching 57 billion dollars. Iranian Government expects to install renewable energy plants for 5,000 MW. 2

Production and logistic inefficiencies represent new opportunities for Italian companies Each year, 35% of the agricultural production is lost because of obsolete production technologies and logistic weaknesses. Breeders work between 20% and 30% of their production capability. Agriculture entrusts almost entirely on natural irrigation and each year 15 billions of cubic meters of water are lost. These figures show the great market potential for the companies which produce equipments and technical tools for agriculture, zootechnics, transformation and renewable energy. 3

The main agricultural productions in Iran Total value of agro-zootechnical production: 47.7 billion dollars: Cereals (wheat, corn, barley, rise): 19.4 billion dollars Milk: 15.7 billion dollars Meat: 6.7 billion dollars Pasta: 0.8 billion dollars Other productions: 5.8 billion dollars Note: The total value of the Italian agricultural industry is 103 billion dollars Cereal production Total production: 20,6 billion tons (Italy: 16,5 billions of tons) Wheat: 13.2 billion tons Barley: 3.4 billion tons Corn: 2.3 billion tons Rise: 1.7 billion tons Meat and milk production Bovine Meat: 0.25 billion tons (Italy: 0.9 billion tons) Poultry: 0.83 billion tons (Italy: 1.2 billion tons) Milk: 7.8 billion tons (Italy: 11 billion tons) Meat consumption has constantly increased since Iran is an important poultry and milk exporter (the greatest importers of Iranian milk: Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Singapore). Pasta production: Production: 560,000 tons (Italy: 2.9 billion tons). Iran is among the 10 greatest consumer of Pasta (8.5 kg pro capita), a figure constantly increasing. 4

6 The project The project consists in organising a business mission with entrepreneurs who represent the best of Italian agro-zootechnics. The mission is organised by CremonaFiere - recently recognised by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development as the Made in Italy representative for agro-zootechnics. 1. Goals of the mission: To find new partners and customers for Italian companies and present their products and innovations To create new institutional relationships To present the Italian agro-zootechnical production model To open new trade channels 2. Professionals to meet Companies and holdings owners of the major farms in Iran Agricultural and livestock cooperatives and consortiums Mediators, dealers and buyers of agricultural products, equipment and machinery for agriculture and livestock Food transformation companies Agricultural and livestock associations, with particular focus on grains, dairy and poultry industries Representatives of the Government and territorial institutions Technicians (veterinaries, agronomists, etc...) 5

How to participate The mission in Iran will take place from May 29 th to June 1 st In order to reach the preset goals and meet professionals who actually represents new business opportunities for the Italian companies, the mission will be scheduled as below: a. Presentation and B2B meetings Iranian professionals will be invited in a prestigious location in Tehran, where the Italian companies and the Italian model will be presented After the presentations, one-to-one meetings will be arranged with selected professionals according to the requests of the participants It is estimated to arrange 5-7 meetings with qualified Iranian professionals for each participant company b. Visit plants and farms The second day of the mission will be dedicated to visiting important plants and farms to increase the knowledge of the system and the Iranian agricultural and zootechnical model. 6

Participation Fee The mission participation fee is 1,500 for each representative of the companies exhibiting at Cremona International Livestock Exhibitions Each participant can represent only one company. Furthermore, costs of travels, accommodations and meals out of the official appointments will be at the expenses of the participants. Participant fee includes: Identifying and engaging Iranian speakers Complete overview on Iranian agrozootechnical market B2B meetings organisation Interpreting for the meetings Reports of the meetings and contacts of the companies Organisation of visits to Iranian farms Video-photograph documentation Location, reception, and set up Catering in the location of the presentation Transportation from and to Tehran airport and the other locations of the mission For companies non-exhibiting at the Cremona International Livestock Exhibitions, the fee for each participant is 5,000. 7

9 d. The agency in Teheran The mission will be organised in collaboration with a local agency of business facilitators. The agency, which has an Italian office, has organised also the recent mission of the Minister of Agriculture Martina and Minister of Infrastructures Delrio, who lead 197 Italian companies of different sectors in Iran last January. 8
