1 Page 1 of 6 Question and Answers RFP # IP Phone System Q: Are there any specifications or plans on the installation of the phone systems? A: Vendor installed turnkey. Q: Is there a response document you want partners to complete to accompany their offers for the VOIP upgrade? : please answer questionnaire in RFP. Q: I need clarification on the redundancy solution. First our solution is a Microsoft Clustered Server (MCS) solution. In order to have redundancy the SIP trunks need to route over the internet connection. Since the internet connection resides at the administration office we would have to route that traffic over the fiber. If the fiber is down it would fail back to the local cluster server. If the SIP service is down due to the fiber connection we can route to cell phones. Is this acceptable for the redundancy? This redundancy can use alternate servers but if 100% redundancy is required we would have to install a MCS at each campus which is what we are proposing. A: No cell phone redundancy. Yes 100% redundancy is desired. Q: Do you want each user to have Voic ? Q: Do you want each user to have UC features? (Find me/follow me, Presence, Video phone, etc.), but if solution cannot provide describe why. Q: How many total end users will be needing access to the Mobile UC Client? Q: How many total end users will be needing access to the Mobile softphone client? Q: How many total end users will be needing access to the Desktop UC Client? Q: How many total end users will be needing access to the Desktop softphone Client?

Q: Please clarify the need for a 10 year Warranty We are unaware of any manufacturer providing a 10 year warranty A: Required, but if unable to provide, please provide why in the questionnaire. Q: Please provide clarification on certifications, what level of certification is required? A: Certifications and training for the Administrators. Q: Should we assume that every phone (with the exception of Conference and Lobby phones) is for a user and will also require a voic account; therefore, Voic count is equal to Standard, Administration, and Enhanced Administration phone count? Q: Should we assume that every phone (with the exception of Conference and Lobby phones) is for a user and will also require a UC Client on the desktop; therefore, UC Client count is equal to Standard, Administration, and Enhanced Administration phone count? Q: How many of these UC Clients will need a softphone configured (and licensing to support softphone)? If you elect to deploy UC Client for IM &P Functionality without Softphone functionality, a lower license may be utilized. A: Most likely all users. Q: Please provide clarification on responsibilities for porting of services (Generating CSR s and porting DIDs/Service from current PRI to SIP), will this be PAISD responsibility and Reseller is required to consult with SIP carrier for trunk setup/configuration; or, is Reseller required to manage the process of porting DID s with the carrier on behalf of PAISD. A: Carrier, PAISD, and selected vendor will work together on the solution. Q: What codec (G.711, G.729, etc ) will be utilized by carrier to deliver SIP Trunking to customer edge? A: This will be discussed with the carrier at a later date. Q: Will SIP Provider support T.38 Fax over IP conversion and/or T.30 Fax pass-thru? A: This will be discussed with the carrier at a later date.

3 Page 3 of 6 Q: What codec (G.711, G.729, etc ) will be utilized by PAISD for inter-site calls between campuses? A: Unable to answer. Q: Please clarify network connectivity links types, speeds, and topology between campuses. A: Gigaman fiber between Admin and other campuses. Q: Please clarify if High school or different location is to be utilized as geo-graphically redundant data-center. A: Up to 4 different locations. Q: Please confirm Cisco Network switches in-use on campuses, models in use, if switches are PoE enabled. A: Cisco Cat 4606, 4510, All PoE. Q: Please confirm if reseller will be responsible for configuring VLANs, QOS, and Multicasting on existing network switches. If so, please provide Physical Switch Count per campus (Access layer and core/distribution). A: Reseller and PAISD will work together on this. Q: Please confirm types of Overhead paging system in use at campuses today and if Analog (FXO/FXS) connectivity is available for new telephone system. A: Star topology, 2 wire, Teradon/Rapter V. Q: Please confirm if Multicast over WAN is acceptable. If so, is the network already configured to do so? If not, is reseller required to perform this configuration?. Yes. No. Q: Please confirm if 911 Response Locations are to be per campus address, or per building floor. If per building floor, please provide quantity of levels for each building. Please also specify if a campus has multiple buildings. A: Campus address. Q: Please confirm subnet configuration for campuses, are Voice VLAN subnet s already in place or net-new. If already in place, are the switch-port subnet s isolated and equivalent to the 911 Response Locations for the phones to be plugged in? A: In place, Smart Port. Would PAISD consider a services-only proposal from one vendor with the possibility of getting hardware from another vendor? A: No. Vendor should provide all services. Q: Do headsets need to be provided (Headset Adapter listed in requirements section) or is this just referring to headset capable phones? A: No, just capable. Q: For Unified Communications integration - is PAISD's Exchange server on premesis or is it hosted exchange or office 365? A: On premises. Q: Do all extensions have a DID today or do you have some extensions that are not on a DID? A: Teacher phones are not DID. Q: Will the vendor have any responsibility for the network (Configuring switches, QoS, Voice VLAN's or DHCP?) A: Reseller and PAISD will work together on this. Q: Are all switches POE capable already? Q: Will the vendor need to include installing Unified Communications clients and Paging clients on workstations, or will PAISD handle the software installation? A: Vender will install. Q: What quantities of analog ports will be required at each site? A: Up to 10. Q: Do any users require soft phones / calling from PC headset in addition to their physical phone? A: No Q: Please confirm that for SRST at each site that SRST will only need to support 1 POTS line. but this will be discussed with the selected vendor. Q: It was mentioned that video desired on enhanced Admin phones - Is that just point to point video or multipoint video? A: Point to Point.
