2 THE OPTIMA CONCEPT Natural Skin care developed through ecological principles. On this page you will find the most important reasons why Optima have such beneficial effects on skin problems (itching, dry skin, cracked and superficial wounds). All Optima products have a ph of 4. That s important because shampoos/skin wash with high ph remove fat from skin. Staphylococci, Streptococci and other harmful bacteria that can cause skin problems grow best at a ph of 6-8. At a ph below 4, 5 and in the presence of organic acids, this bacteria can t survive, while the useful normal flora is hardly influenced. Proteases are important enzymes for many functions in the body. In normal skin there is a balance between proteases and protease inhibitors. When skin problems and wounds occur there has been an imbalance in this system; the protease activity is too high. This means that the cell structure will fall apart and thus makes it easier for the harmful bacteria to survive. Protease activity is controlled by ph. The activity is highest at a ph of 7-8,5; at a ph of 4-4,5 this activity is strongly reduced. Alginate is an important ingredient in special bandages/dressings for wound healing. Optima is the only skin care product that contain this ingredient.

It contains only half the quantity of detergent of regular cleansing agents. This means that the skin does not dry out. Dry, cracked skin can often be the start of a skin problem. Optima skin wash is useful when you are out travelling Optima ph skin care plus, ph 4 Product no Ingredients: See skin care. This product has the same good qualities as our (normal) Optima skin care product but additionally, it has a very good effect on harmful bacteria and fungi. Use this when there is an extra requirement for good hand hygiene, for example in health institutions and in the production and serving of food. Using the skin care plus product in the combination with hand wash plus will give the best results if/when having skin problems. Optima ph skin wash plus, ph 4 Product no Ingredients: See skin wash. Skin wash with sea salt. This product has all the good qualities of the Optima skin wash and has additional effect on harmful bacteria and fungi. Use this when there is an extra requirement for good hand hygiene, for example in health institutions and in the production and serving of food. Using the skin care plus product in the combination with hand wash plus will give the best results if/when having skin problems.

4 Optima ph shampoo, ph 4 Product no 8-9 Ingredients: Detergent, organic acids, alginate, glycerol, aroma, colour, water and sea salt. Mild shampoo with sea salt, vinegar and alginate. This product is quite similar to Optima ph skin wash, but more effective against hair problems such as dandruff and dry scalp. Optima ph deodorant, ph 4 Product no 5 alginate, glycerol, aroma, colour and water A skin caring deodorant without perfume and aluminium. Prevents sweat odours to occur. Optima ph stomach regulator, ph 4 Product no alginate, glycerol, aroma, colour and water. Beneficial for the normal flora in mouth, throat, stomach and gut. Use it for air/gas problems and other moderate stomach/ gut problems. Stomach regulator is useful when you are out travelling. Optima ph mouth spray, ph 4 Product no 60 alginate, glycerol, aroma, colour and water. This product is good for the normal flora in mouth and throat. Use it when you have a dry mouth, irritation, mild cough and other problems.

5 FEEDBACK I have now tried the Optima Skin care product range. Very good! I have a lot of problems with dry and cracked skin on both my hands and feet during the winter. This year I hardly had any such problems. I have given samples to some friends and they want more!... I am fascinated by the development of the Optima product. This shows what good knowledge and creative thinking can do I have tried Optima skin wash and Optima skin care with a friend, and I am very pleased with the result. After almost 50 year with skin problems, I have never experienced such good improvement in short time. At Tinn Healthcare, a nursing home with 30 patients, we have used Optima for a long period of time. The elderly patients often have dry and flaky skin. We have fewer problems with this after we started using Optima. The workers also complained of dry skin. This is now much better. For patients with very dry skin, we use Optima skin care plus. Can be used if you want an even better effect than with Optima ph universal wash.
