2 INTRODUCTION Dewey Waters Ltd is a market leader in the manufacture of Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) Products. GRP ONE PIECE STORAGE TANKS One piece storage tanks are an economical alternative to sectional tanks. They promote quick installation, whilst offering the same applications and similar components as sectional tanks to meet specification requirements. While cold water storage is the main application, our one piece tank range is also suitable for storage of mild and even some aggressive chemicals by using specially selected resins. One piece tanks are often used as feed and expansion tanks as they are capable of storing water at temperatures up to 55⁰C. Where necessary, we can quote tanks suitable for continuous operation up to 95⁰C. All our one piece tanks are fully WRAS (Water Regulation Advisory System) approved and certified in accordance with current regulations. When installing a product which will carry or receive water from the public mains water supply in the UK, it is a criminal offence if it does not comply with the water supply (water fittings) regulations or Scottish bylaws. All Dewey Waters products are produced under ISO 9001:2008 quality standard. All our tanks over 1000 litres unless requested otherwise will have lids which come in sections. This means that one part can be removed without uncovering the whole tank. We keep a wide variety of tanks in stock, please turn to page 3 for more details. All our one piece tanks are supplied with a screened vent and screened warning pipe as standard. 3 SELECTING THE CORRECT TANK Sizing Select a size or capacity, see our standard range of one piece tanks on pages 5 and 6. Can t see anything suitable? Talk to our sales team about special one piece tanks on Insulation Consider what the tank is being used for, where it will be situated and then select a suitable insulation thickness/value from the list below: 25mm w/m 2 / ⁰C 50mm w/m 2 / ⁰C 75mm w/m 2 / ⁰C Uninsulated All our insulation is HCFC and CFC free. Float Valve Housings and Access Hatches Float valve housings permit the inlet valve to be mounted at a higher level on the tank to increase the useable volume of water. We offer a range of different sized access and inspection hatches. Air Gap Requirement Please see page 4 for more details or consult your local Water Authority for further advice. Horizontal Split A tank can be made in two pieces across the height for movement into/ through tight spaces. Horizontally split tanks are not compatible with divisions. Access problems? Reinforced Base The entire base of the tank must be supported when installed. Where this is not possible a Reinforced Base is available for tanks installed on piers or frameworks. Please see page 3 for more details. Twin Compartment Tanks Tanks can be supplied with an internal division to create two compartments. This retains a constant supply of water whilst maintenance takes place. Available in tanks 450 litres and upwards. Condensation Trays We offer a range of condensation trays to compliment our tank sizes. Connections We supply a wide range of optional WRAS approved connections and fittings, below are some of the more common connection types: Inlet valves - Keraflo delayed action and Equilibrium float valves. Outlet/Drain - PN16 Stub flanges and male or female parallel BSP tank connectors. Overflows and Warning Pipes - Screened overflows and warning pipes to meet current regulations. Monitoring Equipment - Level switches, temperature dials, bosses for temperature sensors and remote contents gauges. Sparge Pipes - Where space is limited the inlet and outlet connections may both be required on one end of the tank. Sparge pipes allow water to be drawn from the far side of the tank. This creates a cross flow of water which prevents stagnation in the tank. 2

4 STOCK TANKS Our range of standard tanks on pages 5 and 6 are usually available as a stock item, complete with 25mm insulation and with or without a raised float valve housing. Stock tanks can be delivered within 2-3 working days. Standard Tank Tank complete with a raised float valve housing. Please note stock tanks are supplied undrilled with recess positions as detailed above. Recess provisions are the areas suitable for drilling and fitting connections. BASE REQUIREMENTS Standard Tanks The entire base of the tank must be fully supported on a concrete/timber* base. *The timber must be supported with beams to sufficiently distribute the tank weight when full. Reinforced Base Tanks Supports must be level and positioned at a maximum of 600mm centres and must have a minimum bearer surface of at least 75mm. 3

5 AIR GAP REQUIREMENT An air gap is the unobstructed vertical space between the tank inlet and the top water level. We can offer a range of air gaps up to and including an AB air gap for Category 5 fluid stored within our tanks. An AB air gap arrangement will prevent any contaminants in the tank from flowing back into the mains water supply. Please contact our technical sales team if you require assistance in selecting your required air gap. HOUSINGS We offer a range of GRP housings which provide additional frost protection to tanks, pump sets and pipework. Please contact our sales team for details.
