3 4 Greetings from the Mayor Contact Us General Information Dear Residents: We all have such busy schedules these days that lots of pre-planning is required to keep everything organized. There are so many activities to choose from you will need the extra time to look through all of the exciting recreation opportunities! The Parks and Recreation Department has been working on some important projects, all of which are designed to enrich Orangeville residents recreation opportunities. The floor and refrigeration system replacement at Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre is in its completion stage, well in time for the busy hockey and skating season ahead. Parks and Recreation Toll Free (all departments) Alder Street Recreation Centre Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre Parks & Recreation Aquatics Ext Director Ed Brennan Ext Acting Facilities Manager Charles Cosgrove Ext Facilities Supervisor John Whipp Ext Parks Supervisor Kevin Barry Ext Aquatics Supervisor Deb Halls Ext / By the end of the summer, weather permitting, residents will be able to enjoy the new splash pad at Fendley Park. The need for a second splash pad has grown since 2000 and it s with much gratitude that the Town has partnered with the Rotary Club of Orangeville to make this project a reality. Our local service clubs are committed to providing these services to the community and the Town couldn t do it without their support. The demand for more group fitness classes has continued this past year, resulting in new classes such as Meditation, Kick Fit, Body Blast and Calm Steady Strong, a therapeutic fitness program for those experiencing cancer in their lives. A new three-month fitness package will be available beginning in September, plus all classes are now being offered on a very affordable drop-in basis. I hope you have had a chance to check out the new Town website. A new feature is a Parks and Recreation Daily Activity Schedule which provides a quick link to what s happening at the recreation centres. Visit to access this great new feature. With cooler weather just around the corner, don t forget to get out on the Town s ever-growing trail network for a walk, run or bike ride it s an easy way to fit active recreation or transportation into anyone s busy schedule!
