1 Kindergarten Lesson Plans Room 113 & 114 Week of: May 6-10, 2013 Reading Comprehension Strategy/Skill What will the students learn? How will we know they have learned it? I can ask and answer questions about key details in a text. Students will participate in group discussion. What happens if they donʼt? We will scaffold conversation, reword questions, etc. What happens if they do? Students will independently answer reader s response questions. Word Wall Words Phonemic Awareness/Phonics be, she Review long/short vowel sounds What will the students learn? Students will review Step Up to 1st Grade Lessons regarding addition/subtraction. What happens if they donʼt? Math How will we know they have learned it? What happens if they do? Morning Routine:
2 Teacher greets students at the door. They come in and put away backpacks & coats, day planners and any other items. Students sit at tables and listen to announcements while the teacher takes attendance and lunch count. Students are independently reading from book baskets at their table. Meet on the carpet by 8:50 to begin with the Calendar and Morning Message. Teaching Assistant takes the students the restroom mid-morning and the teacher prepares snack for the class. Teaching Assistant Lunch time: 11:00-11:40 Teacher Lunch and Plan: 12:00-1:15 12:00-1:15 The teaching assistants take care of the students during lunch. The teacher helps get the students to the cafeteria and seated. Students are to be in the lunch line by 11:45 and finished by 12:15. The assistants take the children to the Restrooms, read a story from the library basket and practice the Phonemic awareness Heggerty (Tier 2), & Fluency practice.
