2 Assalaamualaikum Dear Parents and Students, The new academic school year is around the corner! We are excited to announce that Sunday School will begin September 07, Enrollment is open to all children ages 5 and up. As every year, IAENC Sunday School will be offering curriculum for Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies. In addition to all of these we will be working to bring understanding and implementation of concepts learned in classrooms. As always, in order to help your child succeed in their religious learning and understanding, we ask parents to work with them at home by implementing lessons learned at school. Few things, which you as parents, would need to know: 1. Tuition: $150 per child. This fee assists us with paying for textbooks and activities throughout the year. Cash or checks are accepted. Checks should be addressed to IAENC with subject line: Sunday School registration fees and your students name. (If you are enrolling more than two kids, discount is available) 1. Last day to enroll: September 14, Please read with your child and sign and complete the following attached forms 1) Registration form 2) Liability Waiver Form 3) Sunday School Rules, Student Expectations and Discipline Policy. 3. I assume full responsibility for any injuries and damages which may occur to this student(s) on, in, or about the premises of the said school, or arising out of its activities, and do hereby fully and forever release and discharge IAENC Sunday School, its trustees, its school, and all associated with it, including teachers, administrators, and volunteers from any and all claims, demands, rights of action, or causes of actions, present or future, whether same, be known, anticipated, or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out of the student(s) participation in the program and activities of the aforesaid school. Similarly no one at IAENC Sunday School will be held accountable for loss or damage to any valuables (such as cell phones, ipods, other electronics and jewelry etc) brought by the student(s). I further grant permission to provide emergency first-aid and/or hospitalization to the student(s) in case of injury or illness as deemed appropriate by the school or a physician. 5 Sunday School Rules, Student Expectations and Discipline Policy Parents please read the following rules, student expectations and discipline policy with your student(s). Sunday School Rules: 1. Students are expected to arrive on time to school. a. School hours: 10:30am- 1:30pm b. Drop off: 10:15-10:25 am c. Dhuhr Salah: 1:15pm (parents are expected to attend) d. Pick up: 1:30pm Note: Parents please arrive on time to pick up your child. IAENC staff is not responsible for your child after school hours. Frequent tardiness in pick up will result in fines. 2. No running or shouting inside the masjid is allowed. 3. Use of foul language is NOT allowed. 4. DO NOT engage in activities that may harm or damage one s self, another person or the Masjid property. 5. All students are required to follow a dress code befitting a masjid. Boys, age 11 and above, will avoid wearing shorts which come above their knees. Girls, age 11 and above, will be required to wear hijab and long pants/skirt before entering the Masjid. Teachers will have discretionary rights in asking a child to follow proper decorum and modesty. 6. NO TEXTING, NO TALKING ON THE PHONE. Students are required to TURN OFF their cell phones once they enter the masjid premises until end of the school day. Students are also required to put away their air buds at all times. 7. We ask parents that they do not allow their student(s) to come with valuables, such as ipods, ipads, cash or jewelry etc. The IAENC Sunday School staff and administration will not be held responsible for any loss or damages to the items. Students are Expected to: 8. Bring required books to each class. It is the responsibility of the students and their parents/guardians to protect and preserve their books. A notebook and pencil are also required in the classroom. Coming prepared to the classroom will help ensure a productive learning experience for students and will decrease time wasted replacing missing items. 9. Respect school property. Students must pickup after themselves and cleanup when necessary. Damaging school/masjid property will result in consequences. 10.Complete homework. Parents should check for completion and accuracy before homework is turned in to the teacher. Parents will be notified if a 5

6 student misses assignments. Please refer to the parent contract regarding parent expectations and homework. 11.Maintain a respectful noise level. Noise should be kept to a minimum and students should not speak out of turn. Respecting others by being a good listener is a Muslim characteristic that should be practiced at all times. All students will have an opportunity to participate in classroom discussions. 12.LEARN, UNDERSTAND, & LIVE by the words of Allah. This can be accomplished by working hard to learn Surahs & Ayaat introduced in the classroom. It is extremely important that parents help students with Quran memorization at home. DISCIPLINE POLICY: Teachers will first give students who do not adhere to proper behavior a verbal warning. After this initial warning, the student may be sent to the Principal s office for a conversation with a member of the Administration Team. This member will then make the judgment whether the parents of the offending student need to be informed on the spot or if a letter or phone call home is in order. Frequent tardiness, constant issues such as but not limited to: lack of discipline, disregarding authority, not doing homework and other behavioral issues may result in suspension.
