1 Connect The Ducks Social Media and Marketing Coord. Application We are hiring a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator for the Connect The Ducks Team! Connect The Ducks purpose is to provide fun, safe events where students can connect and create lasting common memories. We do this by hosting free themed events each term for UO students. Event games and activities often encourage students to connect with new people and participate together. Specifically this team works on Flock Party, Homecoming and Halloween events. The position would begin December 1. Please fill out this form to apply. For applications in alternative formats or other accommodations, please contact CSI reception desk via at csi@uoregon.edu, or via phone at (541) Program Description Connect The Ducks is a committee of the Student Activities Board (SAB) part of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) an EMU program in the Division of Student Life. The SAB works to enhance the student experience at the University of Oregon through innovative leadership and engaging activities. It accomplishes its goal by planning events for UO students including the BE lecture series, Fishbowl Fridays, Willamette Valley Music Festival and many more fun events. Additionally it supports other campus events such as Week of Welcome and Homecoming. The five person CTD team is lead by a Chair and advised by the Center for Student Involvement professional staff, who provide support to and training for each coordinator. All Connect The Ducks team members contribute to the content of their events and develop event planning skills. Each position has a specific role within the team. Social Media & Marketing Coordinator Description CTD Social Media & Marketing Coordinator: Purpose of the Marketing and Social Media position is to get the word out about Connect The Ducks activities and opportunities to the UO student body. The goal is to increase attendance and volunteer participation at events. This position creates marketing plans that include print, web, social media, street teams and other kinds of outreach. The person will work with many people including the SAB Graphic Designer, professional marketing staff, Scheduling staff and more. Responsibilities Manage all social media used by the team including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Work with Student Activities Board Social Media Coordinator to connect with other social media outlets Develop, implement and evaluate creative yearly, term & event specific marketing plans including social media Assist with general promotions of team recruitment Work with Graphic Designer to create physical and electronic materials aligned with branding standards Participate in Student Activities Board trainings, workshops, and other activities as needed Participate on Connect The Ducks: Work with the team at all events including set-up, check in, clean-up, public speaking, etc. Attend all weekly committee meetings Hold weekly office hours in the CSI Required Qualifications Be currently enrolled as a University of Oregon student (part-time or more) and must remain in good standing if hired Ability to create social media and marketing plans that increase attendance and awareness of events Ability to create clear, concise exciting social media messages Ability to follow tight deadlines Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people Ability to work both as part of a team and independently Preferred Qualifications Experience with Connect The Ducks including attendance at events or volunteering Page 1 of 6 Connect The Ducks Social Media and Marketing Coord.
