1 Restaurant Business Before Hours / Business After Hours What is a Business Before Hours / Business After Hours? A Business Before Hours / Business After Hours is a networking event where Arlington Heights Chamber members attend to connect with each other and you. The chamber will help you develop strategies to engage those who attend. Registration numbers will be provided 3 days before the event. Business Before Hours (BBH) Business After Hours (BAH) 7:30 am to 9:00 am 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Host Fee: Chamber Member $0 Included in Membership Non-Chamber Member $350 Fee may be used within 30 days of the event as a credit toward Associate or Partner level membership. You may select one of the following options to assist in managing your costs: Schedule a partner host to share costs, understanding the following minimum requirements at no cost to the chamber: Business After Hours: I agree to provide 2 drink tickets with a minimum offering of beer, wine & soda and food showcasing menu items. Contact the chamber for assistance in securing a chamber member partner host. Host must arrange all sponsorship payment from the partner host. Non-chamber member partners will be charged an additional fee of $350 to be collected by the chamber. o Additional Benefit: 1 Bonus e-blast for the host restaurant (may be transferred to a chamber member partner host by the restaurant) to be used within 30 days after the date of the event - $150 Value The chamber will pay $10 per person (not including chamber staff) to the restaurant host for the following minimum requirements: Business After Hours: I agree to provide 2 drink tickets with a minimum offering of beer, wine & soda and food showcasing menu items. 2 Benefits Provided by the Chamber: Marketing o Exclusive event blast to AHCC members with flyer provided by host (680 pixels wide in png format) o Social media post o Event included in Monday e-newsletter o Event photo included in the AHCC monthly e-newsletter o Pictures submitted to area media outlets Registration o Collection and communication of registrations o Registration desk attendant the day of the event Staff o Chamber Staff and Welcome Team to assist with member connections Connection Activity o Planned interactive activity to help connect attendees if appropriate to event Host Responsibility: Signed agreement due a minimum of 60 days prior to the event Flyer for Blast pixels wide in png format Food & Beverages - Selection should be representative of your menu Business Before Hours Full Hot Breakfast Beverages Business After Hours Small Plate / Sample Size Food Beverages Space Location must have space for a minimum of 30 people to gather comfortably in an area that is separated from regular business activity that would distract from the event. A pre-visit by a chamber staff member may be required. Space must be configured so that guests can enter at only one place that also accommodates a registration table. Provide one table and 2 chairs for registration. Page 2

3 Resources for Hosting a Successful Event: Your Brief Presentation / Commercial Include Company history What makes you unique from other businesses in your industry? Display or demonstrate something of interest that will stick in people s minds about your business a unique product or service. Days and hours of operation Introduce your staff Talk about your specialty dish, catering options, party groups, pricing Consider Why? Who? What? Why should attendees come back to your business? Who are you and who do you want to connect with? What do I want you to do after this event? Tell attendees what you want Come back! How am I going to motivate attendees to return? Make your attendees stay and come back as a regular customer! Bounce Back / Special Promotion Inform the chamber of any special promotion you would like to run at the end of the event to motivate attendees to stay and we will communicate it so they can plan on staying, and perhaps invite someone to join them after the event. Give out to-go menus with a special chamber member offer attached. Make sure to include must provide business card with this offer so you have contact information to follow up and thank them for coming. Raffle = Follow Up Marketing Tool Collect business cards for a raffle then use the contact information to follow up with attendees after the event. Raffle prize should be a free, no purchase required gift. 4 Event Preparation Checklist: 60 Days Before Event (Minimum) Deadline to submit completed agreement to Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce 5 Weeks Before Event Consider your theme, what will make your event unique, offers and giveaways you will use to motivate attendees to return to your business Mindy@ArlingtonHCC.com with your ideas from the above task for review and comments Create event flyer (680 pixels wide in png format) to be sent as an blast invitation o Include event date/time, location, theme, promotions, raffles, giveaways, where free parking is available o Contact the chamber office for recommendations of members who can help develop and produce your flyer 4 Weeks Before Event Send event description to be used on chamber calendar to Kristin@ArlingtonHCC.com Send flyer to Kristin@ArlingtonHCC.com (must be received in png format and 680 pixels wide) 2 Weeks Before Event Submit an outline of your brief commercial about your business to Mindy@Arlingtonhcc.com Tell Mindy what your raffle prize will be. If you do not have an item that is specific to your business, consider purchasing a Chamber of Commerce Gift Card HERE to give away Page 4

7 RESTAURANT Business Networking Event Agreement Please select one of the following options to assist in managing your costs: Schedule a partner host to share costs, understanding the following minimum requirements at no cost to the chamber: Business After Hours: I agree to provide 2 drink tickets with a minimum offering of beer, wine & soda and food showcasing menu items. Contact the chamber for assistance in securing a chamber member partner host. Host must arrange all sponsorship payment from the partner host. I am able to designate a staff person to handle all event coordination during the event so I can promote my business. I agree to provide the agreed upon food and beverage to each guest. I understand that I will be responsible for providing an event description for the chamber calendar listing and a PNG format flyer (680 pixels wide) no less than 4 weeks before the event. I agree to follow the event preparation checklist. I understand my responsibility as the host of this event, and the deliverables of the chamber for this event.
