2 Mission Statement Military Campus Programs provides an effective and challenging education for all military service members, their families, Veterans, and Department of Defense (DoD) civilian personnel. We recognize the need for flexibility without sacrificing academic integrity in educational programs. We use various traditional and distance learning course delivery methods to educate our students in an ever-changing global environment. As I think back, Hawai i Pacific University was a good fit from the start. I was born to teach and just didn t know it. I enjoy explaining and discussing business topics with a good audience that never fails to have a thoughtful opinion. It gives me a forum for my intellectual pursuits. My audience is almost exclusively from the military. Having grown up in an Army family, serving in and retiring from the Coast Guard myself, I understand the military mindset very well and they understand mine. There is something profoundly American about our Military Campus students. All five branches of service send their people through similar initial training whether it s called boot camp or basic training, whether it s OCS or OTS, whether it s located at Annapolis or West Point. They re all cut from the same cloth a red flag with white stripes and stars in a blue corner. And I am happy to meet them at the end of their long workday in order to contribute to their education and future opportunities. Dr. Dan Flood Teacher of the Year, 06-07, MBA Faculty Associations As a network member of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), is among a consortium of national higher education associations with more than 1,900 institutional members. They function in cooperation with the Department of Defense, the military services, including the National Guard and the Coast Guard to help meet the voluntary higher education needs of servicemembers. Admissions Requirements Active duty and retired military personnel, their family members, veterans and Department of Defense employees are eligible for military programs. They must be high school graduates or have a GED equivalent. The degree programs are designed to be nonsequential so that students may enter them at any point. National Test Centers In partnership with military education centers on O ahu, Hawai i Pacific University has established five on-base National Test Centers. The centers are located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, Tripler Army Medical Center, and Schofield Barracks. Our test centers offer all 34 e-based CLEP exams and results are available as soon as the exam is completed. also offers 37 DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) exams, computer-based certification exams such as NREMT, AMT, PTCB, CompTIA, Cisco, and many others. These exams are also free for anyone who is funded is also a partner with the Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership (NCPDLP) and GoArmyEd. for College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams. The on-base test centers are staffed with trained Test Administrators to assist our military students through the testing process. Excelsior and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) examinations are included in the program. 3 On Base or Online Military Friendly Education Hawai i Pacific University () is committed to providing our military community a high quality education in a flexible, military-friendly learning environment. s Military Campus Programs (MCP) maintains full service offices on all major military installations on O ahu. These offices are manned with advisors and education assistants to provide timely education support. In addition, online advisors serve the needs of MCP students located throughout the world. offers regionally accredited Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees through classes onbase, or online. For the sixth consecutive year, was selected by Military Advanced Education magazine for the Annual Guide to Top Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities. is ranked in the top 10% of military friendly schools based on the quality of its academics and the advice and support it provides to veterans and their families. In addition, has been ranked a Military Friendly School in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 by G.I. Jobs magazine. This honor ranks in the top 15% of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) Board selected to receive the 2010 Institution Award. This prestigious award was presented in recognition of s significant contributions to the cause of military education. is recognized as a university that provides high quality education programs to the armed services and is directly involved in the support of voluntary off-duty education to the armed forces. Pipeline for Students The Pipeline is the University intranet for all students, faculty, staff, and alumni which has been designed to support the learning environment and connect all members of the University s community to the school and one another. This system, which can be personalized for each individual, provides secure online access to the campus community, online learning and library resources. Students are able to access Web-based , view grades, use chat for course support, and keep abreast of activities. There is a specific MCP tab for all military community students that has military-specific information. Students can locate anything from how to access the wireless Internet on various O ahu military bases to information about how their spouses can receive tuition scholarships. Military Spouse Scholarship The Spouse scholarship is so important because it offers an incentive for spouses to continue their education. I think of it as another way to thank spouses for all that they do, and what better way to do that than with education. It s like an extra push to give to spouses continuing their education plus it s always nice knowing that you are saving a little bit of money. Brayanne Hagensick Military Spouse, Justice Administration Student Hawai i Pacific University s Military Spouse Scholarship Program provides a 25% scholarship to the non-active duty, spouses of active duty military, Coast Guard, and members of the Reserve/National Guard who are not 100% eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill. The scholarship offers spouses a 25% tuition reduction for MCP undergraduate and graduate tuition (excluding fees). This includes courses offered on base or online. 5 Concurrent Program Did you know that you can earn graduate credits as an undergraduate student? Hawai i Pacific University s Concurrent Program allows qualified students to gain a head start on their graduate education while taking undergraduate courses. Students can save on tuition costs in addition to shortening the time it takes to earn a graduate degree. To be eligible for FlexTrack MBA The Master of Business Administration will help you get ahead in today s global marketplace through a strong, in-depth curriculum that balances core courses with electives, providing a solid business education. Throughout the curriculum, you ll find courses with professional relevance. You ll also cross interdisciplinary boundaries within fields, such as studying organizational behavior in a marketing class, to get the richest business perspective possible. This is a rigorous program that will immerse you in leading-edge technology and modern business and management principles, designed to give you the knowledge and experience to lead, innovate, and succeed. The FlexTrack MBA is a tailormade, flexible format that expands your academic and scheduling opportunities. In situations where you find yourself this program, students must be enrolled at as an undergraduate student and have completed at least 90 semester hours of undergraduate credit. I am pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration (major in General Business) as well as a Master s Degree in Business Administration (major in Human Resource Management). I chose due to the manner I was accommodated on the first day I consulted an advisor. The one-on-one session allowed me to build a suitable degree plan that has worked ever since I started taking classes. Having classes rotated throughout the numerous military installations enabled me to take many of my core classes on the bases that are closest to my home.
