3 What is in the Agreement? Building Information Modeling (Article in 1-P): Outline BIM Objectives Reference BIM Addendum (if qualifying project): This addendum applies to all projects exceeding a Total Project Cost of $5 million new construction, substantial renovation, or as directed by the OPP Project Manager Ensure price for OPP s BIM needs are in the base contract price Ownership and Use of Documents (Article 7 in 1-P) All preliminary studies, Construction Documents, as-built documents, record drawings, special requirements, cost estimates, and all other data compiled by the Professional under this Agreement shall become the property of the Owner and may be used for any purpose desired by the Owner except to use for the construction of an identical facility not covered by this Agreement. The Professional shall not be liable for any reuse of these documents by the Owner.

7 Article 1: Project BIM Requirements Purpose: Specify detailed conditions that must be met as a minimum for successful implementation of BIM that aligns with PSU objectives including: Mandatory BIM Uses per phase (customized by project) Modeling Standards Facility Data Integration Method for Submitting BIM Deliverables (Article 3) Quality Control Procedures prior to submitting to PSU Modeling Commissioning (PSU Team)

8 Article 2: BIM Project Execution Planning Purpose: Detail the means and methods for developing an BIM Project Execution Plan in a timely manor including: Development of an initial BIM plan (payment held until approved) Overview of the submission process to PSU for approval Re-Develop Plan once CM is onboard (payment held until approved) Mandatory Review of the Plan during major project milestones

9 Article 3: Project Deliverable Requirements Purpose: Detail the specific deliverables (as a minimum) required for submission to PSU at each major milestone including: Design Intent Model (Geometry and Database) Means and Methods Model (Geometry and Database) Construction Submittal Schedule As-Built Model (Geometry and Database) Record Model (Geometry and Database) 2D Documents per agreement from model QC Report ensuring quality of information

10 Article 4: Ownership, Rights and Liabilities Purpose: Revisit the ownership language from the agreements to ensure that the teams are able to share the modeled information from one party to the next: BIM must be available for all team members BIM must be reliable and free of major defects Professional is responsible for design intent model Contractor is responsible for means and methods model

11 Article 5: BIM Schedule of Values Purpose: Determine the detailed cost for providing BIM services on each project (if any) including: Project BIM Requirements (Article 1): Owner Requirements QC Procedures Mandatory BIM Uses BIM Plan Development (Article 2) BIM Deliverable Development (Article 3) Model Sharing and Liabilities (Article 4) Must be reviewed and complete prior to contract approval
