1 Urinalysis Reagent Strips MANUAL and SEMI-AUTOMATIC Urine Analyzer Description of Urinalysis Urinalysis is a diagnostic physical, chemical, and microscopic examination of a urine specimen. Urinalysis is performed for several reasons: General evaluation of health Diagnosis of metabolic or systemic diseases that affect kidney function Diagnosis of endocrine disorders Diagnosis of diseases or disorders of the kidneys, liver or urinary tract Monitoring of patients with diabetes Urinalysis with reagent strips allows analysis of several parameters: Ascorbic Acid, Glucose, Bilirubin, Ketone, Specific Gravity, Blood, ph, Protein, Urobilinogen, Nitrite and Leukocytes.

2 Urinalysis Reagent Strips Visual Reading Procedure 1 2 Product Name Specimen Parameters Tested Time for Visual Result Time for Analyzer Result Sensitivity Specificity Strip Packaging Urinalysis Reagent Strips Urine Up to 11 parameters 30 Seconds to 2 Minutes 60 Seconds See Insert See Insert Canister:100 Multi-strip Pouch: Languages Available on the Kit Box Languages Available on the Package Insert CE Status English, Italian English, Italian CE Marked

3 Parameters Read Time Urinalysis Reagent Strips Performance Characteristics Sensitivity Clinical Indications Ascorbic Acid (ASC) 30 sec 5-10 mg/dl ( mmol/l) High levels of ascorbic acid indicate possible interference with blood, glucose, nitrite, and leukocytes readings Glucose (GLU) 30 sec mg/dl (2.5-5 mmol/l) Presence of glucose provides diagnostic value for diabetes and acute renal failure Bilirubin (BIL) 30 sec mg/dl ( µmol/l) Increased bilirubin levels indicate different forms of liver disease such as jaundice and hepatitis Ketone (KET) 40 sec mg/dl ( mmol/l) Increased ketone levels can be detected in diabetes, starvation, vomiting, and febrile states Specific Gravity (SG) 45 sec units Reduced specific gravity indicates diabetes and other renal disorders while elevated levels indicate liver disease, excessive loss of free water, or congestive heart failure Blood (BLO) 60 sec mg/dl (5-10 Ery/µL) Presence of blood indicates a number of pathologies including kidney damage ph 60 sec ph values Alkaline ph values suggest urinary tract infection while acidic ph values indicate gout and fever Protein (PRO) 60 sec mg/dl ( g/l) Increased protein levels can be an indicator of kidney damage including glomerulonephritis Urobilinogen (URO) 60 sec mg/dl ( µmol/l) Increased urobilinogen levels may indicate disturbance of liver functions, cirrhosis, and viral hepatitis Nitrite (NIT) 60 sec mg/dl Presence of nitrite indicates infection including urinary tract infection Leukocytes (LEU) 120 sec 9-15 Leu/µL Presence of leukocytes indicates kidney or urinary tract infection or possibly a tumor
