2 Head to Toe Vascular Imaging MR Angiography (MRA) and MR Venography (MRV) are imaging techniques for the detailed evaluation of blood vessel abnormalities in the brain, neck, chest, abdomen and extremities to evaluate for stenosis, occlusion, or aneurysms. Compared to CT Angiography (CTA), MRA/MRV offers the benefit of no patient exposure to ionizing radiation, in addition to lower contrast reaction rates or the potential to image without contrast. Conventional bolus enhanced MRA has historically been the choice for abdominal, cardiovascular and peripheral MRA, because of the increased blood signal in these regions provided by these techniques. However, the advancement of non-contrast MRA techniques has led to increased utilization for greater patient safety and a more simplified acquisition process. 3 Head to Toe Vascular Imaging Non Contrast Enhanced Imaging Time of Flight (TOF) Provides high contrast blood flow visualization by exciting unsaturated blood flowing into a region of interest for high resolution imaging of the Circle-of-Willis and carotid arteries VASC-ASL Arterial spin labeling technique that tags inflowing blood, creating bright signal to aid in the diagnosis of stenosis or occlusion of abdominal and chest arteries and veins VASC-FSE Utilizes a 3D primefse with IR pulse sequence to scan in both systole and diastole blood cycles.
