Dredge Operator Possess experience in dredge lifting operations of 2-10 years Training takes up to 27 months for a dredge operator to be fully functional Able to understand & navigate waterways & sea channels & read charts Supervisors the deck crew & ensures duties are carried out Assist in planning dumping schedules & understand congestion restrictions in local waters. Understand operations & relevant certificates. As an officer, he has moral responsibility towards all his or her ship crew' health, safety as well as well-being Assists in planning overall duties & job responsibilities for daily operations Answerable for deck maintenance & operational issues to the company in his watch & to the captain & 1st officer whilst assisting him Main operator of Dredge on Dredger Dredging work underwater with depths (< 50m). No visual aid is possible & operators must bank on their experience to ensure dredge accuracy with a tolerance of only plus/minus 0.5 metres. Knowledge of lifting weights & undersea currents & conditions for accurate & safe dredging. Responsible for overall housekeeping of his cabin & dredge operations. May also be called upon to have secondary duties on the deck. Critical for all dredgers as he is the main person who operates the dredger at any given point

Possess experience of 1-2 years in dredging trade Responsible for operational capabilities & maintenance of vessel equipment and safe running of ship Plan maintenance schedules & ensure dredger engines & equipment are in working condition On-board first line mechanical troubleshooting Determine fuel, lube oil, & other consumables required for operations Prepares the engine room for inspection by local marine/safety authorities Operate deck machinery (winches & spud systems) & operate any lifting gear General maintenance, repair, sanitation & upkeep of material, equipment & areas on the deck Direct & participate preparation of galley & meals; determine timing & sequence of operations to meet serving times Inspection of galley & equipment for cleanliness & proper storage & preparation of food. Take inventory of stores & equipment & marketing requirements for food & supplies
