2 The Pathway is designed to allow you to come into and leave the service at a time which is right for you. This means you can take the gradual steps from start to finish if that is what you need. We work with year olds who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, who live or have a connection in the North Tyneside area. If you want to work with us you will have to ask someone from statutory organisation (e.g. GP, Housing Officer, Social Worker, Youth Offending Worker etc) to refer you to the Support Gateway at North Tyneside Homes. WE AIM TO PROVIDE THE RIGHT LEVEL OF PRACTICAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AT THE RIGHT TIME TO YOUNG PEOPLE AS THEY MOVE TOWARDS AN INDEPENDENT AND POSITIVE FUTURE You feel safe in the fact you constantly have a person on your side with everything you need and more, you re treated like an equal no matter what your background is.

3 NIGHTSTOP NORTH EAST provides emergency accommodation in the homes of volunteers. You will be offered a room for the night, an evening meal and breakfast the next morning, as well as use of washing facilities. Nightstop staff work with you to help you get suitable longer term accommodation, or help you return home if that s what you want. SUPPORTED LODGINGS you will live in the homes of householders in North Tyneside, who include single people, couples and families, who offer a safe, stable and friendly environment. Staff will support you to develop and move on to appropriate accommodation when the time is right. COMPASS staff are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you will be living with 7 other young people. You have your own room and key and you share kitchens, bathrooms and lounge. Staff will help you to develop your skills so that you can move on when the time is right. INSITE we have two 4 bedroom houses and two 2 bedroom flats across North Tyneside, which you share with other young people. There is more independence here but our staff still visit your property daily. You will have to have some independent living skills, which will be further developed with staff support so that you can move on into your own tenancy. INLINE is our outreach project where staff visit you regularly in your own home, and will help you to find, prepare for and keep a tenancy of your own. This could be either through the Council, Housing Associations, Estate Agents or Private landlords. We will help you access grants and set up your home, and then we will continue to support you to work towards a positive and independent future.

4 EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION (Nightstop) SUPPORTED HOUSING 8 young people with 24/7 staff presence (Compass) SUPPORTED LODGINGS 9 young people within a home in the community SEMI-SUPPORTED HOUSING 12 young people in shared houses with daily visits (Insite) OUTREACH SUPPORT 144 young people and young parents, where staff visit you regularly in your own home (Inline) INDEPENDENT LIVING! The Young People s Accommodation and Support Pathway in North Tyneside can help you find and keep accommodation and support you for up to two years. You will create your own support plan with the help of your worker which covers the Every Child Matters outcomes. You also have the option of gaining a qualification through completing the Practical Housing Units.
