Well tonight we are going to be doing session 6 in our series Understanding the Judgments of the Lord. B. What I want to talk about tonight is the nation of America. C. Prophetically speaking I believe that the nation of America is in a season of discipline and judgment from the Lord. 1. When I say prophetically speaking I mean my own personal conviction from the spirit of the Lord the bible and what numerous prophetic people are saying around the nation. (Terry Bennett, Bob Jones, Jonathan Cahn, Rick Joyner, IHOP, Randy Demain, John Paul Jackson, Shelley Hundley, Chuck Reber, CRI). 2.But it doesn't really take a prophet to look at what's going on around the nation and discern something is going on. 3. But as we have talked about in this series already the principle of Amos 3:6-7 is at work in our nation. Amos 3:6-7 If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city, will not the LORD have done it? 7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. D. It's important to have a biblical understanding that God deals with cities and nations. 1. We obviously see this with Sodom and Gomorrah, we see this at the tower of Babel, the city of Nineveh the nation of Egypt and all throughout the history of Israel as a nation. a. I mean all throughout the bible God is interacting with people and people groups, cities, and nations. 2. We see how God used nations such as Babylon as an instrument of judgment in his hand against Israel (Habakkuk), we see at the end of the age Jesus will enter

2 Forerunner School of Ministry- Justin Callies 2 into judgment fully and finally with the rebuilt city of Babylon and the rest of the nations. Joel 3:12 Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Revelation 18:21Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 3. This is the way of God, he interacts in the affairs of man it's biblical and we must get a vision for it so that we understand it's not a far off reality that God is dealing with our nation. II. Covenantal Qualities of Relationship with America. E. I believe that our nation has at some level covenantal qualities of relationship with God. 1. I don't know the full degree (only God knows) it's not at the same level as Israel, but none the less it's there. 2. It's safe to say that God had intended purposes for our nation's creation in his heart. So we can also look and see how God dealt with the nation of Israel as a template for how he will deal with our nation. a. Many that came over from England were fleeing because of religious persecution and America became a safe haven for Christians. 3. George Washington on the day he was inaugurated April 30th 1789 at the capital in New York went down to St Paul's Chapel after his inauguration with other US government officials and they had a prayer meeting and George Washington prayed and dedicated our nation to God and prayed that if our nation strayed away from God that God would discipline us and that if we followed his ways he would bless us. F. I don't believe there is any good argument that our nation was not founded on a Christian foundation.

We put scripture on our Federal buildings,( the ten commandments), we prayed and talked about God in our schools. 3. From the governmental level we declared a day of Thanksgiving to God and so much more. G. God's light shone upon our nation there was a great religious freedom and Churches and the gospel obviously went forth in our nation. II. A Shift Has Taken Place A. But just like the nation of Israel as things got going well in America we began to decide that we were doing ok without God. 1. We had the summer of love in San Francisco in 68, soon thereafter as a result of a newfound sexual freedom and promiscuity isn't it funny how legalized abortion followed suit in 73' at the governmental level. 2. We began to take God out of our schools we took prayer out of our schools, 3. We have people fighting to get any and all acknowledgement of God out of our buildings. 4. We are now legalizing same-sex marriages and unions at the governmental level. 5. We have a multi-billion dollar pornography industry that is feeding the trafficking of women and children. B. Beloved I want to tell you a shift has taken place in our nation over the last several decades and it's been away from the Lord and God has set his sights on America and he is going to fight to get our attention. C. Beloved God told a prophetic man that America as a nation was intended to be a place of Refuge and that he wanted to restore America to its original intent and that our nation was now in a 21 year period of sound discipline.

That God is not just wanting the Church in America to turn to him but he is looking for our whole nation to return to him and the judgment in the land will only get more severe until we either respond or the landscape of our nation is forever changed. 2. Another prophetic woman had an encounter with the Lord and the Lord told her that she was living in the land of judgment this was in 2002 shortly after 9/ Bob Jones over 20 years ago had visitations with the Lord and the Lord showed him earthquakes hitting California and God gave him the exact rictor scale number of 2 earthquakes that have already hit California and then showed him one would hit Japan and after that one hit it would be the prophetic trigger that a massive one was coming to California. D. I want to say tonight that it is time to sound an alarm in our nation we are living in the land of judgment and if we as the American people do not hear what the spirit is saying and turn to the Lord judgment is going to increase in the land like we have never seen before. E. It's not God's best for our nation but it has become necessary. F. Through our accumulated response to God as a nation over the last several decades and our continued resistance to him we have effectively positioned ourselves as a nation to receive the discipline and judgment of the Lord. G. God has given us time much of this began in the 60's H. And God is so kind to our nation that he won't allow us to keep going headlong into destruction without doing what he can to try to awaken us. I. The Church must awaken the nation must awaken the only appropriate response is Joel 2. Joel 2:12-14 Now, therefore, says the LORD, Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. 14 Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him A grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God?
