4 : is a free downloadable app for the ipad that allows anyone to create instructional videos for educational purposes. It allows audio recording while showing a whiteboard style screen that can be written on with a stylus pen. While it has obvious applications for supplementing Distance Education courses, it could have many applications in a regular class room as well.
5 Example Video : Before talking more about the program, to get a sense of what this is, let s look at a video I made for a distance ed course last semester. 6 Uses for There are many different reasons these videos could be used in both a regular classroom and a distance classroom: Adding extra explanation for questions that require lot of calculations where the steps aren t obvious looking at notes. Filling in questions that weren t finished in class. Supplementing difficult questions that the class had problems with. Reviewing difficult test questions without using class time. Answering calculation based question that students have by . :

8 Downloading The app is available as a free download from Apple directly on your ipad. Searching for, inc in the App Store you ll be able to find it. :
9 Opening the App When you first open the App you will be prompted to login or create a free account. This will allow you to access your videos from the internet or any ipad. After logging in, your main screen will look like this with all of your videos. :
10 Starting a Video To start a new video, click on the New Lesson button on the top left hand corner of the homepage. The recording screen will look as follows. Now let s see what we can do with it! :

12 Options for Making Your Work Available : There are several options for making your available to your students. The simplest is to make the URL available to your students. This can be done directly in Stats Portal under your resources tab. When you select Add new content item, instead of selecting to choose a file, you can select Link and share the link that way. I personally have made a PDF document for each unit I had videos for with an imbedded link.
