ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The majority of the work shifts is performed in a mobile kitchen trailer requiring the ability to spend long periods of time standing or in constant motion in a confined space. Individual must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs, and be able to make themselves heard and understood in a loud setting.

Prepares food items according to recipe. Cleans sanitizes, and organizes work area and equipment in order to maintain kitchen and food service areas according to standard. Fills in as Concessions Attendant and Slide Dispatcher when needed. Responsible for food preparation, and taking orders,. Set up, and breakdown of service areas. Responsible for morning and evening pre service preparation such as making salads, sandwich wraps, pizzas, dressings and sauces, Prepare cold or hot items as orders are placed in a quick precise manner,. 3 CONCESSION GRILL COORDINATOR March 24 or until filled April 1, 2014 $10.54/hr As many as 40 during full season Must Be Available Mostly morning and day shifts, some, some evenings Level 5 Under supervision of Aquatics Supervisor, manages and supervises the concession Grill Kitchen staff, which will include a grill, fryer, and other kitchen equipment and serve as higher level staff for general pool facility operational issues. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Responsible for creating an appealing array of menu items with an eye to utilizing healthy alternatives for a mobile concessions facility. Implement procedures and monitor for quality control and to minimize waste and pilferage. Will work as the lead cook through the busy hours of the day (11 to 5), and to train cooks and captains to operate when you are not working. Works closely with Concession Coordinator to manage service issues; line speed, proper staffing/staff schedule, maintaining customer service. Creates signature dishes which appeal to a wide variety of patrons. Assist in recruitment, interviewing and hiring of all concession personnel. Conducts employee orientation and oversees initial training of all new hires. Responsible to create a positive work environment characterized by open communication; including daily interaction, staff meetings, and sharing information pertinent to the success of the concession operation both financially and as perceived by the guest experience. Maintains adequate staffing throughout the season. EXPERIENCE: Must be enrolled in (having completed 2 semesters) or have completed a Food Service Management program at the Missoula College of Technology, or similar experience/certification. Previous experience as a fry/grill cook preferred. Necessary qualifications include: Short order cookery, basic baking, nutritional cooking, fundamental cooking principles, and cost control. Personnel skills that include the training and direction of staff in an intense kitchen environment. Ability to address challenges quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision while meeting needs associated in a non-traditional restaurant setting. EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma. Must have completed or be half-way (2 semesters) through a Food Service Management program at the Missoula College of Technology or similar program/certification. 6 Months or greater experience as a fry cook or grill cook preferred. 4 WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR April 12 or until filled May 12th $9.05/hr Varying Must be available: Days, Evenings, Level 3 Weekends Under supervision of Aquatics Supervisor, instructs patrons in swimming techniques and health and safety habits for the aquatic environment. Requires the ability interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Instructs patrons in the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Creates an environment of learning within the pool area. Teaches swimming safety and skills in a friendly, fair, and positive manner. Completes necessary paperwork on time and in a methodical manner. Observes behavior of pool patrons. Maintains order in classes. Inspects and maintains instructional equipment. In the event of emergency, serves as a member of the Emergency Action Plan and communicates with lifeguards and other aquatics staff. Administers first aid, CPR and AED. Limited cashier and record keeping duties. Performs other duties as required or directed. Water Safety Instructors plan for and implement a progressive swim lesson and water safety schedule of lessons according to the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program guidelines. Instructors must have an ability to communicate effectively with young children and their parents and must be able to maintain order within their classes in an environment that can be loud and distracting. Instructors must communicate with Lesson Supervisor to ensure proper placement of students in the correct class ability level and are responsible for increasing the comfort, technique, and safety of lesson participants. Specific Instructor responsibilities vary somewhat between Splash, Montana and Currents Waterpark, and they will be detailed further during orientation and in-service training sessions. Current certification in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor required. Applicants possessing Waterpark Lifeguard Certification and or CPR/AED for Infant, Child, and Adult preferred. LIFEGUARD April 20 or until filled May 12 th $8.48/hr Must be available: Days, Evenings, Level 2 Weekends Under supervision of Aquatics Supervisor, protects health and safety of swimming pool patrons. Requires the ability interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Prevents accidents in pool, pool area, and play features by maintaining safe environment for all patrons and communicating facility rules effectively and politely. Observes behavior of pool patrons. Maintains order. Inspects facility for cleanliness and safety, acting appropriately to rectify deficiencies. Inspects and maintains lifesaving equipment. In the event of emergency, rescues swimmers in danger and supervises crowd control. Administers first aid, CPR and AED. Cleans locker rooms, pool decks, bathrooms, and lobby areas. May be required to perform light pool maintenance duties including vacuuming pool, scrubbing pool tile, etc. Performs other duties as required or directed. Lifeguards provide for the safety and comfort of pool patrons through effective surveillance, communication, rule enforcement, First Aid, CPR/AED & rescue skills and risk management techniques. When not in the surveillance rotation lifeguards are responsible for responding to patron concerns and issues, regular cleaning of the facilities, light to moderate pool and locker room maintenance duties, and other duties as assigned. Lifeguards are expected to be alert at all times, while on duty or in the facility, to possible and actual emergency situations and may be called upon to perform lifesaving actions during high stress situations. Lifeguards must possess good communication and team skills in order to manage the behaviors of large groups of people in a waterpark setting and to ensure the safe and secure operation of city of Missoula resources. Specific lifeguard responsibilities vary somewhat between Splash, Montana and Currents Waterparks, and they will be detailed further during orientation and in-service training sessions. Current certifications in Lifeguard Training. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid required. Those with Water Park Lifeguard certification preferred.

5 WATER PARK ATTENDANT March 26 or until filled May 1 th $8.00/hr Must Be Available Early Mornings, days, Level 1 evenings, and Under supervision of Aquatics Supervisor and Aquatics Program Coordintor. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Communicates with supervisors about safety issues regarding the slides, and the Water Park in general. Enforces facility rules. Cleans and patrols water park when on duty. Cleans locker rooms, pool decks, play features, and other areas as assigned. Perform light pool maintenance duties including vacuuming pool, scrubbing pool tile etc. Performs other duties as directed. Enforces Water Park facility rules. Communicates safety issues to the proper supervisor. Cleaning duties include picking up trash, sweeping, scrubbing, and cleaning surfaces, picking up play equipment, cleaning bathrooms, and other miscellaneous light cleaning tasks. Works cleaning shifts that occur prior to and after regular programming hours of the facilities. Works to ensure high standard of cleanliness at various facilities. Performs light cleaning and light maintenance tasks. Inspects facility for cleanliness and safety, acting appropriately to rectify deficiencies. Partakes in a positive work environment characterized by open communication, including daily interaction, staff meetings, and sharing information pertinent to the safety and success of the water park. EXPERIENCE: Previous supervisory experience preferred. Necessary qualifications include: Ability to address challenges quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision. EDUCATION: Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations, follow oral and written instructions. Must be 16 years of age or older as required by federal law so as to serve in this capacity. Ability to work independently to complete tasks assigned.

6 AQUATICS FACILITY LEADER Application Deadline Start Date Wage Hours per Week April 15 or until filled May 14 $9.68/hr Must be available: Days, Evenings, Weekends Level 4 Under supervision of Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics Supervisor, manages and supervises lifeguards, Water Safety Instructor staff, Slide Dispatch Staff and all aquatics programs. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Serves as shift leader for a large community water park which includes a food service, large waterslides, lazy river, and play features and a smaller, indoor water park. Serves to assist in water quality maintenance of waterparks and splash decks. Lifeguards to ensure the safety of pool patrons and fellow employees. Ensures that lesson and lifeguard operations are safe, clean, and in compliance with city policies. Assists Aquatics Management staff in planning, organizing and implementing a comprehensive lesson program, conducting in-service training and staff meetings. Serves as safety specialist to other staff in the facility. Helps in maintaining current inventory of equipment, rosters, and supplies. Cleans locker rooms, pool decks, bathrooms, and lobby areas. Gives instruction on water safety and/or swimming lessons to individuals and classes. Supports cashiers in opening and closing procedures. Supervises staff and pool personnel when needed and performs other duties as required or directed. When required drives to remote splash decks and performs light pool water quality and light maintenance duties. May be required to perform light pool maintenance and water quality duties including vacuuming pool, scrubbing pool tile, etc. Although specific duties of the Aquatic Facility Leader (AFL) will vary between the two waterparks, this position is responsible for the safety of patrons and staff involved in all operations and aquatics programs while on duty. The AFL will serve at all times as a role model for instructors and lifeguards in their performance and responsibility. AFL s will be required to perform all duties as assigned by Aquatics Coordinators or Aquatics Supervisor, and assist in scheduling, conducting inservice training, evaluating instructors, record keeping, maintenance and public relations. Acts as Leader for facility personnel when Aquatics Management staff are not present. EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 2 year s experience as a lifeguard at a professional aquatic facility. Experience as a teacher or youth leader desired. Pool water quality experience preferred. EDUCATION: High School education preferred. Current Montana Drivers License and a clean driving record required. Coursework or experience in aquatics. Current Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid required. High level of maturity and desire to work with people. Must be 18 years of age or older as required by federal law so as to operate various pieces of equipment.

7 Aquatics Coordinator Water Quality (Seasonal) April 4 th or until filled April 21 1 th $10.54/hr 40 Must Be Available Early Mornings, days, evenings, and Level 5 Under supervision of Aquatics Supervisor, and responsible to the Aquatics Program Coordinator, aids in the coordination of staff activities related to maintain pool water quality at Currents Water Park, Splash Montana, and 4 Spray Deck facilities. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Requires ability to work well with other Aquatics Coordinators to staff programs out of a shared pool of staff. Supports other Aquatics Coordinators as needed. Shares responsibility for weekend facility coverage. Serves to assist in Aquatics staff supervision and program quality. Example of Duties: Aquatics Coordinator Water Quality will serve at all times as a role model for Aquatics Facility Leaders, ensuring that department policies and procedures are followed as works to maintain a high level of sanitation and safety at the facilities. Aquatics Coordinators will be required to perform all duties as assigned by Aquatics Supervisor and Aquatics Program Coordinator, including conducting in-service training, evaluating water quality staff, record keeping, light to moderate maintenance and public relations duties. Will perform Aquatic Facility Leader duties and shifts on a regular basis. Specific Duties: Aids in the implementation of a comprehensive water quality and daily facility upkeep program. Drives to remote splash decks and performs light pool water quality and light maintenance duties on a regular basis. Serves as water quality and cleaning specialist to other staff in the facility including Lifeguards, Instructors, Park Attendants, Concessions Staff, and Front Desk Staff. Ensures that operations are safe, clean. Works with other Coordinators to operate and maintain programs and facilities at the highest possible levels. Coordinates the activities of cleaning teams on weekend mornings. Will act as Lesson Supervisor when needed. Will be scheduled to work Aquatics Facility Leader shifts on a regular basis. Will be assisting in responsibilities of maintaining pump rooms at all facilities, including backwashing, chemicals, light to moderate maintenance, and other duties as needed. Skill in utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and electronic calendar software; Skill in communicating in person and in writing Skill in maintaining both indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities; Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with city employees and citizens. Qualifications: Experience maintaining the water quality of a public pool preferred. Previous experience in water park or pool operations preferred. Current certifications in Lifeguard Training. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid required. Those with Water Park Lifeguard certification preferred. Experience working around the public and with a diverse group of coworkers preferred. High level of maturity and desire to work with people absolutely required. 8 Aquatics Coordinator Water Safety (Seasonal) April 4 th or until filled May 1 th $10.54/hr 40 Must Be Available Early Mornings, days, evenings, sharing Level 5 Under supervision of Aquatics Supervisor, coordinates and administers the lifeguard skill training program for both Currents Water Park and Splash Montana. Trains staff in Lifeguard and Water Safety Skills as well as assisting in training of daily facility cleaning and customer service skills. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Example of Duties: Seasonal Aquatics Coordinator Water Safety position is responsible for scheduling and conducting lifeguard skill practice sessions and tracking the participation of the staff in those sessions. Will assist with hiring new lifeguards and teaching them their job duties so as to be successful. Will teach and run Jr. Lifeguard program. Will assist with evaluating lifeguards, record keeping, maintenance and public relations. Will be scheduled to work Aquatic Facility Leader shifts on a regular basis Specific Duties: Plans, organizes and implements a comprehensive lifeguarding and water safety program, including Junior Lifeguard program. Schedules and assists Aquatics Supervisor in mid-summer and end of summer evaluations and exit interviews for lifeguards. Serves as safety specialist to other staff in the facility including Lifeguards, Instructors, Park Attendants, Concessions Staff, and Front Desk Staff. Works to improve lifeguard performance through an audit program and regular skill re-training. Ensures that operations are safe and clean. When required drives to remote splash decks and performs light pool water quality and light maintenance duties. Works with other Coordinators to operate and maintain programs and facilities at the highest possible levels. Performs other duties as required or directed. 9 COURIER CASHIER - Splash April 25 or until filled June 12 training $8.48/hr Must be available Days, evenings, Level 2 Under the supervision of the Recreation Support Specialist and Concession Coordinator, provides customer service while working in a fast paced, hot environment. Interact with patrons and possess good people skills. Attends to customer s requests by selling concessions and merchandise throughout the park. Prepares food and performs waiter duties for parties booked at shelters. Maintains party planning, guest lists, and follow up procedures. Uses recreation and point-of-sale software to collect fees for concessions products sold at Splash MT. Performs cleaning duties as assigned. Requires the ability interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Follow good accounting practices for cash handling using point-of-sale computer program including credit card payments, reconciling cash irregularities and daily deposits. Wait on and serve customers and sell merchandise throughout Splash. Host parties including guiding party attendees to shelters, informing customers of benefits, and providing general park information. Assist with concessions, dippin dots, and grill. Assist with general cleaning responsibilities throughout the waterpark. Answer patron questions and perform other duties as assigned. Take all payments for food orders and merchandise. Maintain party planning, guest lists, and follow up procedures for parties. Walk around waterpark to sell merchandise and take food orders. Perform basic food prep tasks, take orders, serve food and stock hot food items that require minimal preparation. Maintain sanitary serving and eating areas including clearing tables, grills, water fountains, counters, mopping, cleaning and emptying trash cans. Wash dishes, pots and pans, utensils, steam table serving pans and enzyme drains. Restock food, snack bar products, utensils, and condiments in public area. AQUATICS SERVICE LEADER - Aquatics/Recreation March 28 or until filled Training begins Mid $9.68/hr April Must be available Mornings, Days, Level 4 evenings, Under the supervision of the Recreation Support Specialist ensures quality front line customer service by leading a shift of cashiers to use point-of-sale software at Currents & Splash MT. Responsible for program registration and facility rentals for Recreation & Aquatics programs, aquatics pass sales, answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate staff, provide information on services, rules, regulations, and answer questions. Each Service Leader will have additional specific responsibilities assisting with management of staff and programs. Performs and oversees light cleaning duties around the lobby area. Position requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Serves as shift leader ensuring quality front line customer service; collect admission fees for water park facilities, register passes/programs, and answer a multi-line phone. Follow cash handling policies and procedures including credit card payments, reconciling cash irregularities, making change, and troubleshoot discrepancies and make daily deposits. Cash handling in point-of-sale computer program, enter information into a computer registration system; register customers for programs, facility reservations, and provide membership service tasks including selling season and annual passes, multi-pass cards, resident discount cards, and make reservations for birthday parties. Help and maintain current inventory of equipment, roster, and supplies. Ensure cashiers answer customer questions and information is consistent regarding programs, facility use, concessions and general city recreational opportunities. Oversee, and assist with shift cleaning according to assigned checklists. Responsible to perform other duties as assigned. Although specific duties of the Aquatic Service Leader will vary between the two waterparks, this position is responsible for the efficient and friendly functions at the front desk when the Recreation Support Specialist or the Recreation Receptionist is not present. Function in a direct support role during facility emergencies. Serve as a role model for cashiers. Previous work experience making financial transactions and working with the public. 10 CUSTOMER SERVICE CASHIER Aquatics/Recreation April 11 or until filled Training begins end of $8.48/hr April Must be available Days, evenings, Level 2 Under the supervision of the Recreation Support Specialist, provides customer service, uses recreation and point-of-sale software to collect all transactions using credit cards, cash or checks at Splash Montana and Currents Water Park front desks. Responsible for registering customers for all Parks and Recreation programs, aquatics pass sales, reserving facilities and answering phones. Performs cleaning duties at both locations as required. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a working team. Greet customers as they enter the facility, take payment and provide information regarding facility rules and policies; responsible for good accounting practices with cash handling policies and procedures including credit card payments, cash irregularities and daily deposits. Perform cleaning duties as assigned, and keep work area clean and clutter free. Work with other staff to provide customers a positive first impression which conveys an inviting, safe, clean, and friendly recreational experience. Cash handling in point-of-sale computer program, routinely enter information into the computer recreation software; register customers for recreation programs, facility reservations, and provide customer service including selling season and annual passes, multi-pass cards, resident discount cards, and reservations for birthday parties. Answer patron questions by phone or in person regarding programming, facility policies, concessions and general city recreational opportunities. Clean the facilities including sweeping the floor, wiping tables and counter tops, clean windows, lobby and restrooms and dusts as needed. Specific responsibilities vary somewhat between Splash Montana and Currents waterpark, and they will be detailed further during orientation and in-service training sessions. Responsible to perform other duties as assigned. Previous work experience in making financial transactions and working with the public is preferred. Experience with computers preferred. TEEN WORKREATION COORDINATOR April 11 or until filled May 5 $10.54/hr Up to 40 Must be available: M-F & some, days Level 5 & some evenings through August Under general supervision of the Sports & Wellness Recreation Specialist, designs, develops, manages, implements and evaluates the Teen Workreation volunteer program. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a hard-working team. Coordinate logistics for the Teen Workreation volunteer programs. Work closely with teens ages on a daily basis. Under supervision interviews, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates program participants. Mediates issues involving participants and/or the program. Responds to emergencies as needed. Assists with special events throughout the duration of the position. Performs other related tasks as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must be a motivated, energetic, mature individual able to communicate effectively with teens, parents, and Missoula Parks and Recreation staff. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Background in a wide variety of recreation pursuits preferred. Background working with youth and teens preferred. Experience managing programs and supervising staff required. Must have or be able to obtain Child & Adult CPR certification and first aid before beginning work with children. A valid Montana driver s license is required. Specific instructor certifications may be required. College level courses or workshops in specific recreation skills related to job title, personnel management, lesson planning, etc. preferred.

11 TENNIS INSTRUCTOR April 11 or until filled May 19 $8.48 hr Must be available: M-F, mornings and evenings Level 2 through mid-august Under supervision of Recreation Specialist and Tennis Coordinator, facilitates and supervises a comprehensive tennis program for children, teens and adults. Includes direct facilitation of instruction, drills and games in a safe and positive environment. Requires the ability to interact positively as an effective member of a hard-working team. Assists with instruction of all levels of adult & youth tennis lessons. Tailors lessons to better address the needs of each group. Helps out with tennis program and assists with special events throughout the duration of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be a motivated, energetic and mature individual prepared to work with youth outside during the summer months.
