4 Stage 1 Worksheet 1d Traffic Lights The problem solving task is as follows: Alan Vu is new to Australia. He needs some help in understanding what foods he should eat that would help him to stay healthy and fit and also foods that will help his mind to work well at school, home and at rest. Cut out the foods that you would suggest Alan could eat to help him achieve his best at school and to remain healthy and fit. Once you have cut them out sort them onto the traffic light so he knows which foods he needs to eat everyday (the green light), foods he needs to eat in moderation (the orange light) and the foods he needs to eat rarely or in small amounts (the red light). Once you have done that draw some activities that Alan could do at home or at play time that will help him to stay fit and healthy.

10 Stage 1 Worksheet 2b continued Flow Chart of the Bread Making Process The Bread Making Process 1. Bulk mix of ingredients. The ingredients used include: Flour Water Yeast Salt The time for mixing depends on the mixer used and may take from 2-30 minutes. 2. Divide into pieces. The dough is then divided into loaf sized pieces, shaped into round balls and must rest for 10 minutes. 3. Mould into shape and tin. After the resting stage the dough is kneaded, moulded or shaped and put into baking tins to prove. 4. Prove. The yeast will need a warm, humid environment for the dough to rise so the tins of dough are then placed in a warm, humid prover. Once the dough has risen it s ready to be baked. This may take up to 2 hours for the dough to rise. 5. Bake. The bread is baked in the oven until it s a nice golden brown colour. The bread may take up to half an hour to bake. 6. De-tin. The baked loaves are taken out of the tins and left to cool. 7. Cool. The cooling process may take up to 2 hours. 8. Slice. The loaves are then sliced. 9. Wrap (package). The sliced loaves are then wrapped or packaged into bags ready for the delivery trucks to collect them. 10. Load van. The loaves are then loaded onto the delivery vans or trucks ready to be delivered and distributed to stores or supermarkets. 11. Delivery to stores. The delivery vans or trucks transport the packaged loaves of bread to the local stores and supermarkets ready for the consumers to purchase and enjoy.
