1 ANGELS AND DEMONS-PART 2 A LOOK AT THE DARK SIDE FROM LUCIFER TO SATAN The origin of Angels: Colossians 1:16-19 (NKJV) 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, Colossians 1:19-20 (NKJV) 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. Ephesians 1:9-10 (NKJV) 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him. Redeeming Reconciling Restoring that God may be all in all. 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 (NKJV) 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. Ezekiel 28:12-15 (NKJV) 12 "Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord God: "You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created. 14 "You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. 1. Perfect in beauty perfect in His ways 2. On the Holy Mountain of God 3. The anointed cherub who covers 4. Established by God Himself 5. Iniquity was found in Lucifer EVIL ORIGINATED WITH LUCIFER WHO IS NOW CALLED SATAN. Sin arose from Lucifer's free will. God made perfect creatures and gave them perfect natures and perfect freedom. But with freedom, though good in itself, comes the ability to sin. So, sin arose in the breast of a CHERUB in the presence of God. Freedom is good, but it contains the possibility of evil. God made Lucifer perfectly good. Lucifer made evil. God gave him the fact of freedom (which is good). Lucifer performed the act of freedom to rebel against God (which is evil). God provided the good power of free will. Lucifer performed the bad action of free will. Ezekiel 28:16-18 (NKJV) 16 "By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. 17 "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you. 18 "You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you. 3 BY THE ABUNDANCE OF YOUR TRADING YOU BECAME FILLED WITH VIOLANCE YOU SINNED YOUR HEART WAS LIFTED UP BECAUSE OF YOUR BEAUTY YOU CORRUPTED YOUR WISDOM FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SPLENDOR YOU DEFILED YOUR SANCTUARIES BY THE MULTITUDE OF YOUR INIQUITIES, BY THE INIQUITY OF YOUR TRADING THE LUCIFER SYNDROME: Isaiah 14:12-14 (NKJV) 12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' FIVE I WILLS 1. I WILL ASCEND TO HEAVEN 2. I WILL EXALT MY THRONE ABOVE 3. I WILL SIT ON THE MOUNT 4. I WILL ASCEND ABOVE THE HEIGHTS OF THE CLOUDS 5. I WILL MAKE MYSELF LIKE THE MOST HIGH HE BECAME THE EMBODIEMENT OF ALL THAT IS EVIL. GOOD GOD S WILL, GOD S WAY EVIL - The perversion of what is God s Will, God s Way. GOOD CAN EXIST ON IT S OWN, BUT EVIL CANNOT. EVIL IS NOT AS POWERFUL AS GOOD, SINCE EVIL CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT GOOD. IT IS ONLY A TEMPORARY THING PASSING AWAY IN GOD S PLAN. 4 LUCIFER COVERING CHERUB LIGHT BEARER HE WAS NOT TEMPTED HE WANTED TO BE LIKE GOD APART FROM GOD HE WANTED IT ALL FOR HIMSELF Wasn t content to be the anointed covering for God s throne handling the goods and services of Heaven for God. He wanted it for Himself. PRIDE = INDEPENDENT SELFISH DESIRES HUMILITY = DEPENDENT ON GOD S WILL, GOD S WAY SELF-ELEVATION WAS LUCIFER S SYNDROME. HE WANTED TO BE GOD APART FROM GOD.AND HE HAS INFECTED THE HUMAN RACE WITH THE SAME SIN NATURE. WHO IS SATAN? HIS NAMES: ANOINTED CHERUB WHO COVERS DEVIL SLANDER ONE WHO TRIPS UP OLD SERPANT SUBTLE; CRAFTY GREAT DRAGON A TERRIFYING AND DESTRUCTIVE BEAST THE EVIL ONE ONE WHO SEEKS TO CORRUPT OTHERS ABADDON DESTROYER MURDER FATHER OF LIES; FATHER OF UNBELIEVERS BEELZEBUB LORD OF THE FLIES LAWLESS ONE HE IS THE TEMPTER, ACCUSER, DECEIVER, THE SPIRIT THAT WORKS IN THE SONS OF DISOBEDIENCE. 5 ANGEL OF LIGHT 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV) 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. HIS GREATEST DECEPTIVE ROLE RULER OF THIS WORLD HAS THE LEGAL RIGHT OVER THE WORLD SYSTEMS John 12:31 (NKJV) 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. John 14:30 (NKJV) 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. John 16:11 (NKJV) 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. MURDERER, THIEF, DESTROYER John 10:9-10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. THE FATHER OF LIES: John 8:44 (NKJV) 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. PIPES APPARENTLY BUILT INTO HIS BODY MASTER MUSICIAN WITH HIMSELF AS THE LIVING ORCHESTRA. Some believe Satan covered God s Glory with music through worship and praise. RULES OVER A HEIRARCHY OF DEMON HOSTS FALLEN ANGELS Ephesians 6:10-24 (NKJV) 10 finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 6 WHAT HE IS NOT: HE IS NOT GOD! SELF-EXISTENT: ZOE LIFE THAT EXISTS IN AND BY ITSELF. THE GOD KIND OF LIFE. IMMUTABLE: UNCHANGEABLE WHAT HE SAYS WILL SURELY COME TO PASS. ETERNAL: UNENDING, WITH NO BEGINNING OR ENDING. OMNIPRESENT: EVERYWHERE PRESENT. OMNISCIENT: ALL KNOWING. OMNIPOTENT: ALL-POWERFUL. SOVEREIGN- HOLY RIGHTEOUSNESS LOVE TRUTHFUL HIS MAIN SPHERE OF OPERATION IS EARTH: Job 1:7 (NKJV) 7 And the Lord said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the Lord and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it." HE IS NOT IN HELL YET. SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ME? IT IS WAR BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL. WHY DOES GOD ALLOW EVIL TO REMAIN? 7 Romans 12:21 (NKJV) 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good It becomes clear that Satan s determination to build himself as the center and wholly autonomous with respect to the creator was permitted of god to be tested experimentally to its bitter end. God could have hindered him, but he rather allowed Satan to take the course he desired to follow and to allow that course to become in the end, the ground of its own universal condemnation. Ephesians 1:21-23 (NKJV) 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. THE CHURCH OVERCOMES EVIL WITH GOOD. LOVE IS GREATER THAN LUST. FAITH IS STRONGER THAN FEAR. HUMILITY IS MORE POWERFUL THAT PRIDE. MEEKNESS OVERCOMES FORCE. DON T BE IGNORANT OF HIS DEVICES 2 Corinthians 2:11 (NKJV) 11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. GIVE HIM NO PLACE Ephesians 4:27 (NKJV) 27 nor give place to the devil. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF HIM - 1 John 3:8 (NKJV) 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. His first name means light bearer he carried the light.
