2 Arrival Instructions Keys and Cards Upon arrival: you will meet with the QuICS Coordinator in Room 3103 in the Computer and Space Science Building on the 3 rd floor (shown on previous campus map) You will receive keys to your office, as well as a keycard o This will grant after-hours access to the Computer and Space Science Building and the QuICS Suite 3100 Upon departure: you will return the key and keycard to the QuICS Coordinator (this will be verified by your signature on the record sheets) If you forget to return the key and keycard, please mail them to the following address: QuICS Coordinator 3103 Computer and Space Sciences Building 224 University of Maryland College Park, MD Guest Workstation and Internet A visitor workstation is available if needed o Username and password will be provided by the coordinator o Please be aware: files cannot be saved from one login to the next! If you wish to save files, please use a memory stick! Access to the internet is through a connection to UMD wifi or EDUROAM. The coordinator will provide a username and password for access, if needed Wifi SSID to connect to for a provided username: umd OR umd-secure Printing In order to print, you must first be connected to the internet After that, connect to the blue Ethernet cable located at your desk You must add the printer. To do so: o For PC: Go to start, click and type in \\openprint.pc.umiacs.umd.edu in the search box click Enter A list of printer queues will appear. Select cps h by double clicking on the queue Once the printer driver installation is complete, you may start using the printer o For Mac: Go to System Preferences Select Printers & Scanners Select + to add printer Select IP at the top Enter the following information: Address: print.umiacs.umd.edu Protocol: Internet Printing Protocol IPP Queue: printers/cps h Name: cps h Location: QuICS Use: Generic PostScript Printer 2
