Completing the Course(s) For each module to be successfully completed (i.e. move down to the Completed Courses section), every page must be looked at online, all activities must be completed, and the Knowledge Assessment Test (KAT) must be taken and passed. A few modules (e.g. Introduction module in the Prevention in Motion course) may not have a KAT the score will remain at 0%. The passing grade is 80%. If everything was completed successfully, the module should appear under the Completed Courses section the next time you log in, and display a Graduation icon. Course has not been completed (activities missing, KAT score below 80%, or session ended). Course has been successfully completed. A module with a score of 80% of more should move down the next time you login. If it doesn t, click on the Plan icon to see which activities have been missed. Click on the Plan icon to view which activities were completed and which ones may have been missed. Red Cross OnLine - Instructions 9

10 While the session is active, if a module does not move down to Courses Completed, or moves down but has an icon to the left of it, you can verify which activities you have missed by clicking on the Plan icon to the right of the module titles (this feature is available on both Courses to Complete and Completed Courses). A yellow dot beside the activity indicates you have completed it, a white dot indicates it is not complete. To get out of the Plan screen, click on the Back button of your Internet browser, or click on Learning in the left side menu. Completed activity. Activity is partially completed. Incomplete activity. NOTE: If a course or module contains a Discussion Activity, it will not move down to Completed Courses until the activity s scheduled time period has ended (see section entitled Activity Type: Discussion/Coffee Break ). Once the session has ended, all unfinished modules will automatically move down to Completed Courses and display an icon. Completion of Self-directed Workshops: The successful completion of unfacilitated online workshops (e.g. Prevention in Motion, A Shared Responsibility...) is based entirely on what is tracked electronically in the Red Cross OnLine program. A certificate should be available to download directly from Red Cross OnLine, which can then be printed out. This will be the only proof of completion you will receive. (If you were instructed to report your results to your Red Cross supervisor, please follow their instructions.) Completion of Facilitated Courses: The successful completion of facilitated online courses (e.g. Preventing Child/Youth Maltreatment, Beyond the Hurt...) is based on what is tracked electronically in the Red Cross OnLine program, as well as active participation in online discussions/small group work and completion of assignments. Your online instructor will be giving you feedback on your assignments and progress throughout the course. Types of Activities - Instructions Within each online course, you will encounter different types of learning activities. The following pages outline these activities and give instructions on how to work through them. Not all types of activities are included in each course; please skip over activities which are not present in the courses you are registered in. You can chose to read this section before starting, or you can try the activities online and refer to this section if you run into any difficulties. From within the modules, you can also click on the Help button on the bottom left of the screen at any time to view instructions on how to move through the activity on that page. Red Cross OnLine - Instructions 10
