2 IMH2 Strip centre guiding in the high tempera Operating Principle: The measuring principle is based on electromagnetic induction. At the strip edges, two centre sensors are accommodated at one level, vertically in relation to the strip pass level and symmetrically to the centre of the plant, so that the strip passes centrally between these centre sensors. One centre sensor functions as a transmitter and the opposite one as a receiver. The electronic unit supplies the inductive transmitting sensors with sinusoidal AC voltage of controlled frequency and amplitude. On each transmitter coil, an electromagnetic alternating field builds up towards the opposite receiver. The alternating field flows through the receivers. The level of induction is dependent on the strip position. 4 ion cost-effective maintenance-free Design: Two temperature resistant rectangular metal cross beams with special, heat-resistant sensor coils which are installed from one side of the furnace by the customer. Two double flanges are welded to the furnace walls so that they are gas-tight. They are used to support and seal the cross beams. Shock protection: To protect the sensor system, particularly in case of strip breakage, mechanical deflectors are recommended. On request we will be glad to give our customers information about how to design and where to mount the mechanical deflectors.
