CREATING FUN CHRISTMAS GARMENTS WITH YOUR CAMEO AND HEAT TRANSFER VINYL By Heidi Sheldon, Crafters Corner Contributor We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of good food, friends, family and joy! Now, tis' the season of Christmas! So this week I thought it would be fun to cover some fun creative

2 Christmas garments for you to wear or to give as a fun personalized gift! For the two white shirts with the Christmas trees and names, it's hard to tell in the picture, but I have combined the GlitterFlex Ultra vinyl along with the Siser Easyweed Standard colors. This creates a fun shirt that will stand out and any young child would love. One thing to keep in mind when designing and layering the vinyl's, for better results you should always have the thicker GlitterFlex Ultra vinyl as the top layer. To create this effect, when cutting out the tree, I made sure that the bulbs, garland, and the white (showing the branches) were cut out of the green GlitterFlex Ultra. I heat pressed the Siser Easyweed red & yellow down on the shirt (aligning them up in the silhouette software with the tree) and layered the Green GlitterFlex Ultra over the top. The white outlines of the branches are the white of the shirt. Then I used the Gold GlitterFlex Ultra for the star and the Green GlitterFlex Ultra for the name "Andrew" and the Red GlitterFlex Ultra for the name "Michelle". The snowman face t-shirt is very simple, easy, & quick design you can create that looks so adorable. I used the Siser Easyweed standard color black for the eyes and mouth, and the Siser Easyweed Fluorescent Orange for the nose. The Fluorescent is under the category Heat Transfer-Metal Flake, Neon on our website. For the green onsie I layered multiple colors of the Siser Easyweed HTV to make some cute fun cartoon characters. Rudolph consists of brown for the body, cream for the antlers, white and black for the eyes, red for the nose along with red and white for the scarf. For Santa I used the cream for his face, light pink for the nose, gold for the belt buckle and green, red, black and white for the rest of him. The outline of the face and mustache I left open so it's just the color of the shirt. The snowman is layered red, white, soft pink, black and orange. You could use some of the GlitterFlex Ultra colors to make these stand out more, it would be cute to use the GlitterFlex Ultra red for Rudolph's nose and the red of the Santa hats, and you could even add the GlitterFlex Ultra gold to Santa's belt. For a fun shirt for a guy I did white silhouettes of hands pointing towards the face of the shirt and black writing saying "This Guy Loves Christmas!" This is a very fun simple shirt that you could make and would make a fun Christmas gift.

3 A great gift to a grandparent would be to create a fun Christmas shirt for them in reference to their grandkids. This shirt I created with white and green the words "This Grandma belongs to" and then created some fun cute gingerbread men with different colored buttons and bows. There is a gingerbread man for each grandchild with their names below. For the gingerbread men I used the Siser Easyweed brown for the body, white and red for the eyes, mouth and outline of the feet and hands. I used the sky blue, green and fuchsia pink for the buttons and bows, the names are created with white. For a really cute fun onsie that takes a little more time I created a cute cartoon baby in red pajamas and a Santa Hat. For the baby I layered a solid silhouette of black and carefully aligned and layered the colors over; I did this for an easy way to create the outlines to help the character stand out. The face I used the cream color, the hair I used yellow, I used sky blue and white for the eyes, and the left the black area cut out for the eyes and mouth. Then I added the white and red for the hat and pajama's. I used the GlitterFlex Ultra for the words "Santa's Baby". For your next "Ugly Christmas Sweater" party - why not make a fun ugly Christmas t-shirt to wear! Here I just used the standard white Siser Easyweed and created a fun ugly Christmas sweater design to the front of the shirt with different snowflakes, moose a pine tree some designs and some pixelated hearts along the bottom to pull the whole effect off. For the yoga pants I added "I Christmas" down the one leg. I used the standard Siser Easyweed white for the words and layered red, black and gold for the heart to create a fun Santa belt on the heart. These would be a fun addition to wear to the gym or Zumba dance party during the holiday season, or would also make a great gift. I also show a couple fun things you can create on some plain colored ties and make a great gift for Dad. The first one I took a plain green tie and added red and white standard Siser Easyweed HTV to create the words "HO HO HO" and white dots to look like snow falling. For the red tie I used black, green, red, and white to create the fun saying "Dear Santa, Define "Good"" with a holly. For the holly I layered a black silhouette on the bottom with the red and green on top create the outline look.

4 The last shirt I did a fun shirt for the girl who wants everything! I used white, yellow, and red Siser Easyweed HTV to create a Christmas present and the saying, "Dear Santa I want everything!" These are just a few examples of some fun Christmas themed garments you can create with the different HTV vinyl that we sell and your personal cutter. All of these can be applied with either a heat press or a hand iron, they wash and wear very well. We hope you enjoyed this week's article and thank you for your time and choosing Crafters Corner!
