2 Objectives Elaboration of new IPTV services through personalization of the end user experience and adaptation to his/her lifestyle. Nomadic access to personalized IPTV services "My Personal Content Moves with Me" Services continuity from terminal to terminal in the domestic sphere My Content Follows Me in a Customized Manner Technical solutions are expected to provide Personalized, Ubiquitous, User-Centric and Secure IPTV Services, through: - User IPTV Lifestyle modeling (for the individual) and fusion (for groups) - Content adaptation according to user preferences, to Quality of Experience requirements, and to the different contexts - Privacy management, based on a multi-identity paradigm, fostering trust between viewers and broadcasters and encouraging viewers to participate actively in this new interactive user-centric paradigm of television.

4 Main technical challenges Integration of Context-awareness in IPTV NGN architectures through the evolution of relevant standards Quality of Experience (QoE) management and control through tackling the implication of the resource level (access network and terminal capabilities) and the semantic level (content and service metadata, user profile and preferences) through adaptation to the IPTV Lifestyle of each individual user Enhanced multi-screen IPTV services through contextual and lifestyle-based service continuity and adaptation in the home sphere (in-home mobility) Enhanced nomadic IPTV services through user access to personalized IPTV services anywhere (home, hotel, friends, ) User privacy guarantees through allowing users to fully control their personal data, through allowing context information to have different privacy levels according to users' preferences

5 Contributions Developing a context-awareness module allowing to acquire the implicit and explicit user experience in a dynamic and continuous manner and the integration of this module in an IPTV architecture End user Network Provider Service Provider Content Provider User context & Terminal(s) context Network context Service context Advanced understanding of end-user s IPTV lifestyle within different service usage contexts (user preferences in different context sequences) Personalized services access in Nomadic users and mobile users in their domestic sphere through identifying each user in a distinguished manner and correlating the user identity with his own context Preserving users' privacy through a specific module that will be developed to allow the user to authorize his context information that could be published Involving the public users in the requirement definition process and defining business models that help creating new business opportunities among the different actors along the IPTV chain Presenting a platform for the new IPTV system and use-cases demonstration

6 Main Expected Results A novel IPTV system allowing personalized services through dynamic user interaction (implicit and explicit interaction) that replies to the users Quality of Experience while preserving the user privacy IPTV and Audio-visual Internet protocols standardization. Extension of the services requirements and functional architecture studies in ETSI/TISPAN. Participating to the existing SIP standards. Offering solutions that help creating new business opportunities between different actors along the IPTV chain.
